Chapter 8

"What did you do for the Count?"

"Everything he asked me to do."

"Is she saying what I think she's saying?" Kai asked in shock.

"Take her out of it." Celeste said.

"Mia." Kai said.

"What...why did..." Mia said.

"Kai, leave us." Celeste said.

Kai left the room and Mia started crying.

"Mia, honey, it's okay."

"No, he said I couldn't tell anyone."

Celeste went outside where Mike, Terry and Kai were standing.

"Kai." Celeste said.

"Your Grace."

"Compel them to forget we ever talked to her alone. As far as they're concerned, Mike was with us the whole time and we only asked about their practices."

"Okay."

Kai turned around and started compelling everyone.

A while later...they retured back to their room.

"Celeste what the hell happened out there?"

"Let's just say that the Count satisfies his own needs with whoever he wants. I don't want her to get in trouble because of this."

"Is he...raping her?"

"She wouldn't express it like that. She said she does favors fo him and he give something in return."

"Seriously? That's extortion."

"I know, I know. This thing got way more complicated."

"Complicated? Just kick his ass."

"Calm down. He is still the Count and we can't do anything. Not right now. Something doesn't add up."

"What do you mean?"

"He invited us here and knew you would come. He even requested you should come. For the sake of compulsion."

"Yeah, so?"

"Then why would he put her on the list of suspects? He knew you could compel her to tell the truth, so why put her on the list?"

"Shit, you're right."

"Language. And about that thing you pulled earlier."

"Oh God..."

"You won't ever talk back to me again, is that clear?"

"Yes, Your Grace."

"Get down."

"What? Here? Are you kidding?"

"Now."

Oh shit...this is going to hurt, a lot...

"Aah shit!"

"Language..."

A while later...

"Let me clean up your wounds."

"I'm good, you've done enough."

"Don't do this right now. Turn around... Kai, do you want five more instead?"

Kai turned around and Celeste took a deep breath.

"It's been a while since you got punished like this."

"Yeah and you didn't hold back."

"I never do. All done. Lay off your back tonight and the wounds will have healed until tomorrow."
