Forced Vampire

Chapter 12

Inside the mansion, Sami and Lexa were talking to each other when Kai walked in.

"Hey boss!" Sami said.

"Kai" You're back!" Lexa exclaimed.

"Yeah, our job was done so...Why do you call him boss? I've heard it a few times now but I've never understood it."

"It's this stupid thing we started with after an incident."

"I really thought you were their boss that night at the club. But then afterwards I never thought about it again."

"I'll see you around, Lexa." Sami said.

"Sure. You're fun to hang around."

"You too, hotstuff. See ya, boss." and he left.

Finally alone. I didn't mean to find her just yet but when I saw her I couldn't help myself.

"I'm glad you're back."

"Me too. I won't be leaving for a while now."

"Good."

He just looked down on me and those eyes...God those eyes. We didn't say anything, we just stood there and held eachother's gaze. We didn't have to talk. We didn't need words to communicate, our eyes said it all. And right now, at this very moment, I felt like he had the same feelings for me as I do for him. White eyes meeting my own. God the feeling. And then of course something got in the way.

"Kai, I didn't know you were back." Libby said walking in.

"Yeah, me and Celeste just got back." Kai replied.

Shit, I forgot to correct her about my name.

"And it Your Honor." Kai corrected them.

Libby started laughing and then said, "Oh, you're serious!"

"Yeah, I am. I'll see you guys tomorrow. You should go get some sleep, tomorrow's going to be tough. Meet me here at eight." Kai replied.

"Okay...Your Honor." Lexa said and Kai walked away.

"What happened to him?" Libby asked.

"You got me. He told me he didn't like being called by his title."

"Well, something changed his mind."

"I should get some sleep. If tomorrow's going to be tough, I'm going to need all the sleep I can get."

"Yeah. Good night."

"Night." and Lexa walked out leaving Libby.

Seriously, what got into him? He has never liked being called by his title. And he has never, ever corrected someone about it. I'm officially freaked out.

The next morning in Lexa's bedroom.

Okay, I should hurry and choose something to wear. He seemed fine yesterday until Libby came up to us. He like, totally switched into this distanced person. Like he did the night of the club. That night it had been some kind of a warning, the tone he used I mean. What was it last night then? A warning not to disobey him? I honestly don't want to find out...

She got changed into a green vest top and some black shorts and went to meet Kai who was standing outside with Celeste. Libby joined Lexa on the way there.

"Good morning." Lexa said.

"Good morning, Lexa." Celeste replied. "Libby, get going. Tyler and Rob are already on the field."

"Yes, Your Grace." and she walked away.

"You're just going to keep running too." Kai said.

"Great. Sorry, Your Honor."
