"Got a sec?" Kai asked.

"I'm...I'm working."

"It'll only take a second."

"Meg, I'll be right back." Lexa said to her collegue.

"Okay." Meg replied.

Everything came back to me. The way he held me and the way he...he kissed me. God! White eyes just kept staring at me and I noticed that I was doing the same thing . What is he doing here? Why is he here?

"I'll just come to the other side." Lexa said walking to the other side of the counter. "Hey."

"Hey."

Oh no! I'm wearing my ugly work clothes.

"You look like you're doing well."

"I am. How are yo...you doing?"

"As well as I can."

Why am I so nervous around him? Come on, it's Kai. We spent every waking moment together at the mansion and now...I'm nervous.

"Why did you come here?"

"You didn't say goodbye."

"I came to your room that night to...to say goodbye...But you...hm...you were busy."

"That wasn't what it looked like."

"I didn't even know what I saw."

Does he have to look so good while I'm standing here looking like crap?

"We were...we were feeding."

"What? Off...off each other?"

"Yeah, I...it's what we did that night when I collapsed in your room."

"I don't understand."

"Look, it's this thing some of us do...we feed off of each other. It's usually for the high but...that night when you came in...I just need to get away from..."

"Yeah."

"That's kind of weird...the feeding off others, I mean. Or is it? I don't know. I just didn't think we did that."

"We usually keep it hidden from those in training so they don't go around doing it with each other."

"That's why they didn't want me to hear what they had to say..."

"Yeah."

"I didn't do anything with Vanessa...not in the way you think at least."

"You don't owe me an explanation, Kai."

"Yeah, I do. I know that I pushed you away...but I was...I mean I still am."

"Trust me, I understand that...I just...I still don't get the feeding...thing...Are you...like...an addict?"

"No, it's not like that. Are you back in school?"

"Yeah, yesterday was my first day. How's everything at the mansion? Are you making it as the Count?"

"I'm trying at least. Celeste is helping me too, so...Oh and I signed Tyler to be released too. Didn't make Libby so happy though."

"Yeah I know. We met and he's actually coming here soon."

"Oh...right. I'll let you go back to work."

"Right. I forgot I was working."

"I should get going..."

"Can I get you something? We have a big assortment."
