Tarkik's POV.

"That is ridiculous!" Ram snarled after Blade retold what the two werewolf alphas had said to each other, "there is no way two werewolf packs could wipe us out!"

Blade sighed, "you may be right, Beta, but many of our own would be lost."

I nod at Blade, "Beta, Gamma, both of you are right, however from what I have heard, the Frozen Storms Pack's alpha does not seem to tolerate the Raw Power Pack's alpha and they do not seem to be allies of any sorts. That means, them teaming up is highly unlikely."

Both Betas and Blade both seemed confused by my statement. Honey spoke first, "Alpha, since when have you been one to think positively of werewolves. Gamma barely does that."

"I mean no disrespect, Alpha, but you are not one to think positively at all. In fact, you are the one to think more aggressively towards werewolves," Ram added.

My eyes flicked between all three of them and they landed on Blade. She did not look me in the eyes at first and her one of her ears went down. Her agreement could be seen through her eyes and her body language. I licked my chops and thought of an excuse because I just was not ready to tell them yet. "Just trust me, I have a feeling."

Ram snorted. "A feeling? Alpha, since when do we run the pack on a feeling?"

"Alpha," Blade said softly, "is there something you are not telling us? I know everyone has their secrets, but if it is affecting how you think... I think we should discuss it."

I gave a low growl. "No, I am not hiding anything from any of you. I always put my pack first, you all know that very well."

"Then why suddenly defend a werewolf pack?" Honey asked.

"Because based on the information presented, the Frozen Storms Pack do not want to start a war with anyone. Besides they have never tested our boundaries like the other pack has. I think we need to keep our focus on the Raw Power Pack, but if the Frozen Storms Pack does anything of suspicion then we will increase patrol on their border as well." I explained my thinking to them.

They tossed looks at each other and then said in unison, "understood, Alpha."

"Good," I spoke, "Beta, get the patrols in order. Honey, take over the hunt. Get thirty wolves with you. And, Gamma, come with me." Ram and Honey ran off and Blade stayed by my side as I started to trot towards the outskirts of camp.

She waited patiently for me to speak. "Gamma, I need a second opinion." She nodded, ready to help with whatever needed. "I am thinking of setting up a ready for war protocol." A ready for war protocol means that every able bodied wolf must be trained for combat.

Her eyes widened a bit and she lips her chops. "Well, it is not a bad idea. We do need to be on our toes, especially with how those two werewolf packs are looking at each other. But I do think you need to clarify to everyone what has occurred and that you are setting this up just for precaution."

I nodded. "Thank you, Gamma."

She bowed her head, but before she left, "I may be speaking out of line here, but Alpha, I do believe you have found your mate," I frowned and she continued, "there is just something different about her that you are trying to figure out how to deal with. I just want you to know that whoever she is, I will welcome her with open paws." And with that she gave another head bow and trotted off towards camp.

I watched her go. For as long as I could remember, she had always known how to figure someone out. It is hard for me to ever hide anything from her. I sighed knowing that she would want an explanation sooner rather than later. I will talk to the pack at meal time. A lot of them will most likely figure out what has happened before then, but I know they would like me to confirm it before they believe it.
