Sunna's POV.
My mate's heartbeat slowed down to a steady rhythm and he rubbed his head on mine. I leaned into him and sighed. His embrace calmed me and I never wanted to leave his warmth.
However as I opened my eyes, the death and destruction scared me to my core and I shivered. The werewolves and wolves around us weren't exactly sure what to do. Many had left to mourn for their packmates that had died in battle or help those that were wounded. Others were comforting each other. Many werewolves from the Raw Power pack were staring at the lifeless body of their old alpha and then to me.
"So why can I feel every single soul here as if we are all one pack?" Tarkik asked me suddenly.
I mentally cringed. How would he react to me accepting the title of alpha to all three packs? "When you were taken, I had to convince Alpha Blake to move up the attack and in return I owed him a favor. After his battle with the other alpha, his dying wish was for me to take command of his pack," I explained to my mate.
Tarkik nodded and was about to respond when a pain struck both of us. Without thinking, both of us sprinted to our beta because of the ache coming from him. It wasn't a horrible pain yet, but we both knew he was losing his grip on the world. Ram was laying on the ground with Honey, Blade, and two healers next to him. Ram had a large claw mark going down the length of his body and a lot more, but smaller, bite marks all over his body. The healers were trying to stop the blood coming from the large wound, but were unsuccessful. He would bleed out.
Tarkik whined and nudged Ram's face. Ram's ears twitched and he lifted his head to look at Tarkik and I. "I heard you killed that horrific alpha. I knew you would be able to," Ram said to me, then looked at Tarkik. "Do not worry, Alpha, all will be fine."
"You are not going to die here, Ram. I need you." Tarkik looked at Honey and I. "We all need you. So you better fight to stay alive."
Ram laughed lightly. "Not everything will turn out the way you want them to, Tarkik. When the sun, moon, and stars want me to join them, I will join them and wait for the rest of you to do the same."
Honey's head went down and I could see her tears run down through her fur to her nose. "You cannot yet leave me, my mate."
"I do not have a choice, Honey." Ram looked at all of us. "Healers, leave us." The healers looked at Ram in shock then to their alphas, but neither Tarkik nor I could respond. "Please," Ram begged and the healers quickly left.
Honey cried, "Ram, you cannot just give up!"
"There is nothing they can do, Honey. I would rather spend time with you... and Tarkik, Sunna, and Blade." He smiled at his mate.
Honey pressed her head into Ram's neck as she sobbed. "No... you... c-cannot leave me!" Honey screamed into his fur.
Ram sighed and licked her head before looking at Tarkik and I. "Take care of her please," he asked us quietly. Honey's sobs almost drowned him out and he knew she couldn't hear him.
My eyes watered up and I didn't even try to stop the tears from falling. Tarkik couldn't even speak and his mouth hung open. His beta was dying and he could do nothing to stop it. No one could do anything to help Ram. We could only watch as his grip on the world loosened and as that pain in our hearts became worse and worse.
Ram raised his head to lick Honey on her nose one last time before laying his head down and closing his eyes forever. Honey cried out to Ram, trying to wake him up from his everlasting slumber. I looked down and pressed my head into Tarkik's fur. Tarkik leaned into me, too shocked to even say anything. Then Tarkik stood tall and looked at me. I did the same and waited for my mate to start the howl.
