Skylar's POV.

Dust exploded in front of me as I closed a book. The librarian gave me a dozen books to read with more information about everything we talked about. He told me everything he understood about the Trinity of Life. We got off topic and began teaching me about the different theories of our origins. It was quite interesting, so I stayed up all night listening.

Leya came to find me in the morning and was surprised to find me in the library. We were starting training today and she was worried I was going to be too tired to train. Instead I took a three hour nap and got up because I felt my mate's anger at something and him get closer to my territory.

After deciding to go find him, he explained what had happened. It boiled my blood, but I could not do anything about it. Our conversation ended quickly because a pair of patrol wolves from my pack interrupted us. They asked me questions, so I had to lie for the most part.

Tarkik had to leave to make sure suspicions wouldn't arise. It hurt a lot to see him go and I felt his pain. I just wanted to see him so bad. So very quietly, I told him to meet me here at midnight tonight. My packmates looked at me weirdly, but I turned and left before their questions started up.

I returned to my room to find Leya looking at my books. "Hey, how are you feeling?" She asked when she noticed me.

"Ready to go to training," which was a complete lie. After leaving Tarkik, all I can feel is emptiness without my mate.

Leya was easily able to read through my lie. "Right," she played along and put emphasis on the 'i'. "So there's nothing wrong in your life and you totally got a perfect amount of sleep last night."

I glared at her and muttered under my breath, "whatever."

She gave me a concerned look. "Sky, I'm trying to be serious."

I crossed my arms over my chest. "And so am I. I don't really want to talk about this right now, Leya. You know that I have my hands tied behind my back and there isn't much I can do. Training will help loosening relax my mind. I need this."

She sighed and nodded. "Yeah, yeah, ok. But if you start to feel lightheaded, you better tell me." She stated firmly.

I waved her off, "yeah, I will. Don't worry about me."

"If I don't worry about you, who will? Someone's gotta do it," she replied and rolled her eyes.

Quickly, I put on work out clothes and jogged with Leya to get out muscles loose. We weren't late this time and we were, instead, early. The instructor nodded to us and gave me a long stare. I held his gaze to show him I was ready today. He nodded at last, seemingly fine with my physical abilities.

"He's name is Jake." Leya said quickly. "He's firm, but not rude or mean. He just wants to make sure we're ready."

I nodded in understanding. "What will we be doing today? Do you know?" I asked and started to stretch out any tight muscles.

Leya nodded. "We will be sparing and perfecting our combat skills. Later, we will get a lesson on how to be a patrol werewolf. Of course when we do start patrolling, we will be with an actual patrol werewolf." She explained.

I nodded again. "Did you guys spare yesterday?" She nodded. "Great, now I'm going to get my ass kicked."

A laugh erupted behind me. I turned to see David laughing with Olivia and Camden. My eyes narrowed, "what are you laughing at?"

David had calmed down and replied with, "oh, nothing... I just can't wait to beat your ass."

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, that's just wonderful. I can't wait for it," I remarked sarcastically.
