Siqiniq's POV.

As my paws pounded against the ground, my mind was working fiercely because of the many things on my mind. Which doesn't happen often, I am not much of a thinker and more of a doer. I prefer actions over thought. So why was I thinking so much? For the most part, I was mainly thinking of the books Sky read and of my mate.

The books explained a lot about our past as werewolves, but it never positively explained where we are from or where we came from. There were multiple theories Sky read of. Some say werewolves were created from a god. Others say magic. One says we were from a different world and somehow got transported here. Honestly I don't really care or believe any of them.

However, then one of the books talked about werewolves and their two different halves. How they are separate yet still connected. It explained a theory called fragmentation and they related it to a psychological disorder called dissociative identity disorder. This theory stated that werewolves were not meant to be separate. It talked about how, whoever created us or where ever we were from, we were meant to be separate in the beginning of our lives, but as we matured, we would put ourselves together and fully connect both halves of ourselves. And that we would no longer be fragmented.

To me it seemed pretty logical because no other creatures, except shifters, were fragmented. But I don't know if I really believe it's possible. Because if it is then why has no one ever done it? Or that nothing has ever been said about it?

I shook the thoughts from my head and slowed to a stop. This is why I hate thinking. I can't focus on anything, but my thoughts. Maybe you are becoming like me. Sky told me with a laugh. I growled at her.

I heard a stick snap behind me and I turned to see a golden werewolf. My nose recognized the werewolf as Leya and the werewolf's golden coat matched Leya's hair in human form. My body relaxed and I allowed my tongue to loll. She raised an eyebrow at me.

She touched her touch to my flank and then ran off--tag. I laughed and bolted after her. She zigzagged through the forest, but I was able to follow her decently well. I almost ran into a tree a few times and she just laughed at me as she sped away.

My nose was close to touching her when she suddenly turned left. I couldn't stop myself before I flew into a river. I quickly swam out of the river and looked to see it was Snake River--the border between my pack and my mate's pack. I heard Leya laughing at me, so I growled at her and shook out my coat.

Down the river I started to hear growling and one howl erupted. I looked at Leya in confusion. She surged. What do you think that's about? She asked through a mind link.

I shook my head. No idea. Let's go check it out. I replied. She looked hesitant, so I trotted parallel to the river and she finally followed me. Staying in the tree would provide good cover for us.

The growling got louder and we started to crawl to avoid getting spotted. I finally saw some werewolves growling at each other in human form. A few on our territory and the others across the border between my pack and the Raw Power Pack's territory. Then I noticed wolves on their territory watching the werewolves closely.

"We are not leaving until you do!" I recognize that it was my Beta who spoke to our rival pack. Neither of the werewolf Alphas were here yet. Then I looked to see that Tarkik had just arrived. My eyes stayed focused on him. He sniffed the area--he knows I'm here.

Leya nudged me and nodded her head to my mate. Is that him? She asked me. I nodded. She turned to look at him then looked back at me. He's massive. I nodded and stifled a laugh.
