Skylar's POV.

My eyes gazed out at the moon in the night sky. A sigh escaped my lips. I'm so lost and confused and hurt and I have no idea what to do about any of it. For the first time, I wished desperately to be able to talk to my wolf.

A shadow stopped in front of my door. From the scent, I knew it was Chase. I rolled over, so when he came in he may think I'm asleep. However, someone stopped him.

"Chase, don't even think about it." My uncle said, "you need to let her heal."

"I just want to help her." Chase explained. I shut my eyes tightly as small tears rolled out of my eyes.

"Chase," my uncle spoke firmly, "you've done enough."

"Which is exactly why I need to talk to her!" Chase cried out.

"No! You are not going to talk to her until she's ready to talk to you! You hurt her in a way you have never felt and you want to know why that is? Because, despite your stupidity, I will never hurt you on purpose!" My uncle roared at his son before talking calmly, "Chase it is like an unspoken rule that you don't use your command voice on a family member. No matter how mad or worried or whatever! My father felt hurt in his life and he vowed never to do such a thing and to teach his children the consequences of such an action. And I'm truly sorry, Chase, because I failed to teach you that quick enough."

Chase didn't speak. I knew there was nothing and everything he wanted to say. To be honest, I didn't even want to think about the situation. I wanted to forgive Chase, but that hurt he caused makes me stink back down. I'm confused and lost and I don't know what to do.

"Chase your actions have only made her more vulnerable. Yes, we did need the information, but she would have explained what had happened eventually. We both know she's strong and even if she didn't want to talk about it, I would have told Alpha before continuing the questioning." my uncle sighed, "I think you should just leave Chase."

Again, Chase didn't say anything. I turned over to see his shadow walk away from the door. The door handle began to turn and before my uncle fully opened the door, and again I was turned back over and acting asleep.

He sat at the edge of my bed. "I know you're not asleep Sky. I'm guessing you heard that conversation too, as did some of the other patients. The nurse said you are being released tonight and soon and tomorrow morning you will begin training as a theta. I love you, Sky. And Chase does too. Night."

I sat up as he turned out the door, but he turned back and gave me a sad and worried look before leaving. I rubbed my face.

"Ma'am," a nurse stood in the entrance of the room with a set of clothes, "you can leave now."

I smiled at her, "thank you and what time is it?"

"10:07," She told me.

I thanked her again and took the clothes. She closed the door as she left to give me privacy. I changed out of the hospital gown and into the clothes she gave me. I sniffed them. They were mine, but kinda old. Chase or my uncle must have brought them from when I used to live with them.

I walked out of the hospital and into the cool night. I made my way to my room where Leya was already asleep. After crawling into bed, I tossed and turned trying to fall asleep. I knew why. I could feel her restlessness.

Siqiniq, I just want you to know how sorry I am. I know everything that I've done to you is beyond terrible. I should have never treated you like so. You don't deserve such a horrible person as your human. I... Suddenly, I felt sleepy. As I began to fall asleep, I realized that she stopped her restlessness just so that I would sleep and she wouldn't have to hear me anymore.
