Tarkik's POV.
Blow after blow, hit after hit, my mate continued to get up. Blade did not go easy on her, yet Sunna was learning rather quickly. Sunna was determined and I was proud of her for it. She has been training for a straight week now. Her body has changed into a more muscular and defined structure with her increased skill.
However, I could feel her grow more and more tired as the training went on. And the pain from getting knocked down helped to contribute to her exhaustion.
Nevertheless, she learned a lot in her first week of training. Especially with the fact that Blade likes to show her special, skillful moves, yet Sunna is not quite ready to use most of them. One skill Blade favors is using her tail to hook the back leg of her opponent to flip them and then go for their neck. She used that one on Sunna a few times, making Sunna frustrated.
Blade used her favorite skill one more time before wrapping it up, "alright. I believe that is enough for one day. We will go again tomorrow after meeting with your old pack. You did well."
Sunna shook off her coat. "Thank you, Gamma. I fear I need a lot more practice." My mate said.
"Do not fret, Luna, you are a quick learner. You are already improving!" Blade replied encouragingly.
Sunna and I parted with Gamma and headed towards base camp. Dusk was approaching, meaning the pack meal would start soon. We headed towards the sunken rock and waited for everyone else to arrive.
Sunna looked at me out of the corner of her eye, studying me. "Are you sure becoming allies with my old pack is a good idea?" She seemed to be unsure of herself in that decision.
I took a minute to think and I could feel Sunna poking at my mind. Of course this would be risky, but taking that devilish pack on head on with no help could be even more risky. I nodded to her. "We need the help. Besides, we are going to be careful and make sure they do not try to pull anything on us."
She looked down and I could feel an emotion I did not expect. Homesickness tugged at her heart. She missed her family and friends greatly. "Do you think I will ever get to see my family again?" She asked me quietly and looked up at me.
My lips partly slightly, I was taken back by the question. "I... I think it could be arranged." I replied hopefully.
She nodded and looked up at the pack who was waiting patiently and talking amongst themselves. I took the message and walked in front of my pack, immediately gaining the attention of everyone. Silence fell over the pack.
A sigh escaped me before I went over a few announcements about the upcoming war and an update on what happened this morning and what we are planning. I knew much of the pack felt uneasy about becoming allies with a werewolf pack and I understand it well. Not until I met Sunna, I did not think I would ever trust a werewolf.
After the few announcements, the meal went rather slow. I was not very hungry and only ate a rabbit. Sunna, on the other hand, seemed to be more hungry than usual and ate part of a deer. The training hit her hard for her first week. She continued to act optimistic, yet I could feel her exhaustion and frustration in her poor skill.
We walked back to our den in silence, both our heads were busy and our thoughts seem to collide together at times. Tomorrow is going to be chaotic with our meeting with Sunna's old pack and I knew how stressed she was about communicating with them. She wants to see her family and friends, yet she wants to show our pack that she is dedicated as their alpha female.
As we laid down in our den, I pressed my body around her in hopes of calming her. She licked my nose in gratitude and smiled at me. "We are going to get through this. It is going to be fine." I tried to reassure her. She gave me a weak smile, not truly believing my statement, before resting her head on my paws.
