Saturday, April 25th, 8:00pm.

Music was blasting through my speaker as I got ready to go out. It was my best friend's 21st birthday, so we wanted to make it a good one.

My arms were getting tired as I held them up for so long curling my hair. My hair was not short but not long, long enough to reach underneath my bra strap. It was dark brown, but you only saw the brown in the sunlight. I've always loved my hair, and it gave me confidence.

I set the curling iron down with a sigh, and looked at myself in the mirror. I ran my fingers through the curls so that they looked more like loose waves, and sprayed it with hairspray. My makeup was already done, though it didn't look like I had much on. I wasn't huge on makeup, but I decided to make an exception tonight. I had mascara, with some gloss and blush. It was enough to bring attention the features on my face, but not overpower them.

Satisfied with my appearance, I left my bathroom, making my way to my closet. I jumped as I heard my phone ring.

"Who-.." I mumbled to myself, looking down at the phone screen. I smiled as I saw it was my best friend, Mitra.

"Hellloooo sexy thang," I sang into the phone, holding it between my ear and shoulder. I turned to begin rummaging through my closet for an outfit.

"Leila! Are you drinking tonight?" she asked me, as it sounded like she had food in her mouth.

I scoffed, "Ma'am, you know I'm underaged." I shook my head, laughing to myself.

"Okay yeah, but like, you just turned 20, and that's close enough to 21! Plus, everyone's gonna be drunk around you!" she whined.

I sighed, "I don't know, maybe. I'm okay being the sober one, though. You know that." I pulled out a light red dress, and examined it up and down.

"But why? You always want to be the sober one!" she exclaimed, as I heard her shuffling around.

I placed the red dress back into my closet. "Yeah, that's because I have to watch after you, remember?" I said, in a joking tone.

She gasped, "Watch after me?! I hold myself together and you know that!"

"Yeah yeah I know," I pulled out a white two-piece set and tilted my head to the side. "But no, I don't think I'm gonna drink. I'm not huge on drinking anyway."

She sighed loudly, exaggeratedly, into the phone. "Fine, you goody-goody. But if you don't at least dance on one guy tonight, I'm never going out with you again."

I laughed out loud, "What?!" I threw the two piece set on the bed, a possible option.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong, I love that you watch out for us, but please. You're always the one going home by yourself! You need some action in your life!" she was practically yelling into the phone. I loved my best friend, as animated and wild as she was.

"I don't need action in my life. I'm not a virgin you know." I said, confidently. Though both her and I know that it didn't count for much.

I pulled out another dress from my closet, a simple black number. I was seriously struggling to pick something.

She laughed straight into the phone, "Losing your virginity at prom does not count as getting action, especially when you've been practically celibate since then!"

I shook my head and smiled, "Yeah I know. Anyway, what should I wear tonight?" I asked her, looking at the two options I had pulled out. Nice.

"Something with skin! Actually, go naked!" she joked, laughing. "No but seriously, I don't know. Gabe said it's a really sexy club. Like, black and red type. But I think I wanna wear white, just to stand out."
