Ariel, Jaxon, and Gabe had finally left my apartment. I was left with my thoughts, not realizing the intensity of the information that I had just discovered. I wanted to go to bed and never wake up.

No. My inner conscience was right. I wasn't mad at what I just found out, I was mad that I couldn't indulge in this new "soulmate" I've been told about.

I got up from the couch, putting my dish in the sink, after finishing a lame excuse for a meal. I decided to make my way to my room, and get ready for bed, despite it only being around 5:30pm. I was mentally and emotionally exhausted.

I stripped from my clothes and put on a simple baggy t shirt, and climbed into my bed. I grabbed my phone, having forgotten it existed. I saw a bunch of texts and a few calls from random people, but nothing special. I replied to Mitra's text, after asking me if I was doing okay. I knew at some point I would have to tell her everything I've found out, despite my bodyguards probably being against it. After all, she's practically known me my whole life, just as long as the others. It was only fair for her to know too.

I flipped through some channels on my TV, feeling myself start to drift off. I decided to play a random movie, though I started falling asleep before I could even tell what the movie was about.

-

I woke up in my bed, and it was dark outside. I sat up, feeling around the bed for my phone, but I couldn't find it. I got annoyed and ripped the covers off my bed, only to find nothing but sheets underneath. I stood up from my bed and began to search for my phone high and low, until I felt it.

The warm feeling started to flow throughout my body again, and I stood up straight. I glanced around my room, hoping to find where it was coming from. I took a step back into something hard.

My heart skipped a beat.

"Lovely Leila..." a voice breathed, as I felt warm hands wrap around me. I quickly turned around, eager to see his face again.

I was just as starstruck as the first time. My body was heating up, and I felt the warmth flow to the tips of my fingers and the heels of my feet. I locked eyes with him, his eyes bright in the dark setting we were in. I couldn't help but feel the corners of my mouth tugging upwards. "Hi," I said, softly. He held me firmly against him, lowering his head to place his forehead against mine. My heart was beating rapidly, as I laced my arms around his neck.

"You don't know how long I've waited to find you," he said, his voice was low. "Tell me," I replied, looking up at him. He chuckled at me shaking his head. "You're dreaming, darling."

And just like that, he was gone.

-

I woke up sweating, sitting up quickly looking around my room, ignoring the pain in my eyes from the sudden sunlight.

I scanned my bed, then my room. There was no sign he was actually here. My sheets were the same from when I fell asleep, as if I didn't move a muscle as I slept. I groaned and fell back onto my bed. I reached for my phone, which was right where I left it the night before.

I scrolled through messages in our group chat, reading conversation exchanges between Mitra and Gabe talking about getting coffee. I sighed and tossed my phone to the side once again. I was sure I'd start to lose interest in anything that didn't have to do with incubi, or Makari, more specifically.

I tried to shake the thought out of my head. I couldn't be thinking about him, knowing there was no way he'd ever actually get to see me, other than in my dreams, apparently.
