chapter 18

Sarah

My eyes opened slowly I looked up at ashton and sat up rubbing my face. I stretched my arms out in front of me and then dropped them slouching my back.

The doctor came in and cleared him so he could leave but ashton was still asleep. They told me to wait until he woke up and then we could leave.

Everyone was kind of just spread across the hospital room, I was in bed with ashton and calum was sitting in the chair I had sat in.

I woke calum up which took a second but I shook him awake. He sat up rubbing his eyes and looking confused everywhere. He realized where he was and just slumped over in his chair and looked at me angirly for waking him up.

"I dont want to leave today" I said, my voice all gross sounding and deeper then it normally is, its just how it sounds in the morning.

He shook his head in agreement and just looked down at his hands, I could tell he was hurting. Kylie's such a bitch for hurting him like that.

I wanted to spend all the time i could with my friends before we had to leave, so i woke everyone up besides ashton.

We talked and reminisced about our week and how crazy/eventful it was. We talked about old stuff that made me laugh until I was in tears.

Ashton woke up and i snuggled up to him and he joined in. We talked like that for like two hours and the nurse came in informing us that we had to leave.

We gathered all our stuff together in the room and they unhooked all the wires off of ashton and put him in a wheelchair wheeling him out to the car.

I drove with ashton so I could be alone with him and everyone else drove in the other car they had brought.

"How are you feeling" I asked.

"it still hurts, but its better" he said not making eye contact, he just looked out the window.

I nodded and just kept driving.We sat silence but it wasnt an awkward silence.

We drove and arrived at ashtons house, everyone went with us to ashton's. All the girls got a flight from las vegas so they could come with me and ashton.

We drove to ashtons apartment, where he lived by himself. I realized we never really talked about where we lived, i knew everything about his family, his past but we never talked about where he lived.

We pulled into a parking spot and I jumped out of the car running around to ashtons side to help him get out. I grabbed his hand and he stepped out all by himself but he struggled. We walked into the lobby, ashton on his crutches and me walking closely near him.

"Hey ashton!" the guy at the counter waved at him. A couple other people in the lobby greeted him as well and asked what happened. He smiled and told them calmly and assured everyone he would be fine. He introdouced me as his girlfriend and everyone was so nice.

The other guys and girls arrived a couple minute after us and we all packed into an elevator. We went into his small apartment and spread around the main room.

We all sat in silence not really knowing what to say, I was just dreading the moment we all had to leave.

"I'm hungry" I said getting up to go into the kitchen and asked everyone else if they wanted anything. There was a hallway you had to walk through to go to the kitchen, There were pictures spread all out over all the walls of the hallway and i took my time looking at all of them. They were all with his family and some friends.

I approached his fridge and pulled out an apple and took a bite while i poked around his apartment.

"isnt that apple old?" someone said from behind me. I jumped dropping my apple and i turned around to see who it was. It was calum, "We have to go soon"

"stop reminding me" i pouted bending down to pick up my apple. I stood up and looked at the apple before i just tossed it in the trash.

"I dont want to leave ashton" I said feeling like i was going to cry. Calum gave me a sympathetic look and then walked up to me to hug me.

I didnt want to cry, i hated crying. I pulled away from Calum and decided to go spend time with ash while i still can.

I walked out to the living room where everyone was sitting and i sat next to ashton. They had turned on the tv and they were watching tosh .0 and laughing at the ridiculous stuff he was doing.

I wanted so badly just to go back to the week and have our water balloon fights. When everyone was still there, brooke was gone too ((lol side note i had to remove her too)).

I was so tired and drained i accidentally fell asleep. I woke up a couple hours later, i was still curled up to ashton and it didnt look like i moved at all. Calum was shaking me awake and telling me we have to go.

I jolted awake and began panicked, i didnt want to leave at all.

"did you call your sister to come take care of you while im gone?" I asked. Ashton smiled at me and nodded his head, "she'll be in tonight"

"I dont want to leave you" i said trying to hold back my tears. Everyone had left to go into the kitchen so we could have some alone time to say goodbye.

"Hey, only two months of school left then we can be together again" he said trying to cheer me up and rubbing my cheek.

"Thats too long" i said a tear rolling down my cheek, i barely cry.

"come on dont cry" he said grabbing my face in his hands. "I love you and we are going to be okay, do you hear me?" he said.

"mhm" i said nodding my head and wiping the tear off my face. I hugged him the best i could the way we were positioned and kissed him for a long time.

I got up and went to the kitchen telling them they could come back out and it was time to say goodbye.

My friends and I did a big group hug for a long time. I did not want to leave. I started crying even harder as i hugged each of my internet friends individually. I hugged Michael and Luke goodbye too, i didn't really talk to them all that much but they were dating for my friends so whatever. They all said goodbye to ashton and we all left to go our separate ways. We stood in a huge circle and i said "just 2 more months"

everyone nodded and went their own ways, luke was dropping aurelis at the airport. michael was taking reina to the airport and i got in the car with calum. I sat in the drivers seat and i took a deep breath going to start the car and i just broke down.

"Can you drive?" I managed to say. Calum nodded and got out to switch. I just climbed over the middle and curled up in the passengers seat.

"I really didnt want to leave either" calum tried to reassure me. I nodded at him and wiped the tears away that were running down my face.

Calum drove and drove and i just looked out the window and didnt say anything.
