Kim Doyoung"Spirit possession?" Hyunsuk hyung repeated, surprisingly, he doesn't seem fazed neither does he find it absurd.
"What about it?" He asked. "See, my parents were paranormal investigators." I answered. "They had a lot of secrets about their job, secrets that they would keep even to their own children. But what they promised us was once we turn 16, they'll tell everything to us."
He nodded, appearing as if I piqued his interest. It feels nice though—to have someone willing to listen to your story. Haven't had someone like that for a while.
"My sister learned the secret of my parents three years ago when she turned 16. Five months later—our parents died of a car crash."
Three Years Ago
Rain?
Oh. It's raining.
I shift the position of my head and faced it towards the gloomy sky while the rain landed at my shoulders one by one. Funny, even the sky is mourning with us.
"Doyoung, grab an umbrella. You might get sick." I looked over to the umbrella being offered at me by my sister, I stare at it and then at my sister who gazed at me worried while holding our parents' portrait.
I stared at her, blankly. I snickered.
Sooner or later, we had reached the spots where they were to be buried. They were put down at the same time. I simply watch as their coffins are covered with soil, my parents resting six feet under the ground.
Going back home is even worse. My sister had tried starting conversations with me.
I ignored every single one.
The first step in to our house, my sister headed to the kitchen, "I'll prepare dinner so you can just rest in your room, okay?" She told me.
I stared at her blankly and thought, you're not mom, even so "Sure." was the only word that came out.
Dinner time.
"It's not gonna be as good as mom's but I wanted to try. This is the first thing she taught me you know." That's the first thing Soyoung told me as soon as I saw the food presented at the table.
I stared at the food blankly, not touching one bit of it. Compared to my sister who was eating so well.
Tch.
I can see right through it.

3 am.
Of course, I couldn't bring myself to sleep.
Due to that, I got up and made my way to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. The moment I got there, I heard a noise coming from my parents' bedroom. As soon as I stood against the door, I heard my sister's cries.
Crying it all out, to the point where she's running out of breath. I sat down, my back against the door and started letting my own tears drop.
