Choi Hyun Suk

Light headed.

It was already Monday morning. Soyoung and I didn't discuss anything about ghosts or about her yesterday. Maybe you can call it a rest day; there was a lot to process. It isn't everyday you learn that your blood was legitimately cursed by Death.

We had the house to ourselves yesterday, like every other day really. And everything felt normal and calm. Although reality returned quickly.

I met up with Yedam before first period to return the school records I borrowed. Soyoung wasn't as noisy as before neither did she bother me as much. It almost seemed as if she couldn't ever bring her guard down; it's the first time I saw her so anxious especially at school.

"You okay?" I asked, trying hard for the others to not hear or see me since it'd look like i'm talking to myself.

She gave a small nod but her eyes went everywhere except meeting mine.

"Clearly you aren't." I commented.

"I am it's just— I don't know. You know before, there was a student besides you that could-

She didn't get to continue. "Hyunsuk!" A familiar voice called and it came from Seunghun who was now approaching me. He was with Doyoung.

Soyoung stared at Doyoung for a moment before she turned back to me.

"You should talk with them. I'll go somewhere so you don't look weird when you're randomly staring at an empty space."

"What? Why do you have to go? You never do that."

"Well, I do now." she shrugged, "About the family secret- nevermind." That was the last thing she said before disappearing.

I didn't have the time to react to that since Seunghun bombarded me with stories and daily chat like he always does. Ididn't pay attention to half of what he said and so did Doyoung. Keeping up with Seunghun's energy is as tiring as sprinting around the school field for thirty minutes.

"Oh! Also, Woong hyung was asking us to go with him to the graveyard. He's gonna visit Midam hyung."

"What? Us? Can you tell him I can't-

"Nope." Seunghun interjected. "I told Woong hyung that instead of me he should take you instead. I have org stuff. Besides you're not going alone, Doyoung's with you. You seem to have become more awkward with Woong hyung, you know."

I scoffed, "I still never agreed to this."

Seunghun only gave me a smile, one that he knew agitated me very well. "Gotta go! Doyoung take care of Suk. Woong hyung's waiting for you at the gate! Bye!" He waved and gave me another cheeky grin before vanishing within the crowd.

"How bad can it go?" said Doyoung as he gave me a pat in the back and we started walking to the gate.

How bad can it go, he asks.

Truthfully, I don't know either. But something about Woong has been off. The way he stared, spoke, acted and everything else. Change is natural but to think that Woong turned into someone, who I wasn't comfortable being around anymore, bothered me. That change is not natural. Something about him turned more vile and dark, only thing is he did well to conceal it.
