"i-i'm looking forward to a bunch of awesome stories from the trip..," ashido says, sniffling and hiccuping in between.

four of them hadn't passed the test, which meant they were likely staying for summer school instead of the training camp. as the others comforted the ones who failed, todoroki looked to the empty seat to his left.

she's not here today.

he'd waited for her at the gate too. he didn't know if it was to his advantage or not, whether she was gone for the day. he still didn't know how to bring up his newfound knowledge to her.

it was a pretty crazy story. he only hopes that [name] doesn't think him insane after he talks to her about it. his train of thought is interrupted by the mention of her name.

"i'm in the same boat," sero says. "i didn't really do much at the exam. all i did was fall asleep and run away when i woke up. [name]-san was the one who did all the work."

"so until we know how they're grading this thing—"

"save your pity! i just want your points!"

the bell rings and is accompanied by the slam of the opening of the classroom door. aizawa walks in carrying the graded exams.

everyone takes their seat and is shushed with anxiety.

"morning," aizawa begins. "about your final exams.."

"sadly, we had some failures."

the souls of the four that were indirectly mentioned could be seen leaving their bodies.

"as such,

"you're all going to the training camp."

the room explodes with overjoy especially the ones that failed, as they hadn't expected the twist.

"everyone cleared the written tests," the teacher continues, "but in the practical; kirishima, kaminari, ashido, sato, and sero all failed."

sero expresses his embarrassment in clearing but failing the practical.

aizawa explains the premise of the exam, and how it was designed to push the students in a clever, rational deception.

iida makes a comment about how UA has deceived them again, recalling aizawa's "lie" in the quirk apprehension test. "but..! now that we've been lied to twice, aren't you worried that our faith in you has been shaken?"

"perhaps, but it's wasn't entirely a lie," aizawa answers. "failure is still failure. those who didn't clear the practical will be taking supplementary lessons during the training camp, and it will be far worse than summer school."

"anyway, regarding [last name]," he continues, "you may have noticed she's not here today, and it's because her brother was hospitalised after a villain attack."

the class murmurs.

"her brother was the hero that subbed for us that one time, right?"

"maybe it's why she went off during the exam."

eraserhead clears his throat to silence the class. "thankfully, he's alive and well. i've corresponded with him regarding the training camp, and he has informed me that [last name] will be joining us. she's currently on her way back from america," aizawa adds.

"i need someone to drop by her house tomorrow to give her a copy of the camp manual, as well as her exam results."

the class looks to the different members of her friend group, but most to uraraka, who was her closest female friend. before she could volunteer, however, she's cut off by todoroki raising his hand.
