11 ; Birthday Twins

"Oh, Kuroo-san!!" I heard Hinata blurt out, quickly going towards me.

"Hey Hinata-kun." I smile and wave back at him as I entered the gym. Everyone's eyes went towards me, expecting my brother. I scan the building and saw Kenma at the side "Oh, Ke-chan~"

"Ke-chan?" Hinata tilts his head a little. Then he follows my eyeline and realises I was talking about Kenma, "Ahhh!"

"Yeah, I called him that when we were kids." I said.

"Since you we're kids, huh," Hinata asks curiously, "If you don't mind me asking Kuroo-san, how old are you?"

"You can call me Mai," I reply, smiling, "I'm 16, turning 17 in September"

"Ahh! You're the same age as Kenma!" he expressed with a twinkle in his eye. Though, he did mutter something that I didn't quite catch, "What day is it on? If you don't mind me asking~"

"Shoyo, stop pestering her." I heard Kenma say from a metre away.

"Oh no it's fine!" I brightly smiled back towards the voice, waving my hands in front of me, before turning back to Hinata, "It's on the 27th."

"What?!" He proclaims, jolting his body up slightly. I furrowed my eyebrows a little at his sudden reaction. "You have the same birthday as Tsukishima!"

"Someone say my name?" The tall figure said intimidatingly, coming towards us. Damn... He may not be as tall as Lev but he still is tall-

"Hey Tsukishima! You and Mai-san have the same birthday!" He exclaims, pulling a shocked face.

"Oh, okay." The bean pole said bluntly. His expression was unchanging, and flat.

"Seems like we're birthday twins." I said, smiling lightly.

"I guess so," He said. He started to walk out of the gym, not really interested in the conversation. I don't blame him.

"Hey Mai-chan, I'm gonna try and help Kageyama and Hinata with their quick, wanna help too?" Yachi said as she walked towards me with the team's bibs.

It was a long first day for all the teams. They had non-stop matches, a good and filling lunch and then more matches. Let's just say, from what I heard from Yachi, Karasuno lost all their matches today. I'm obviously sad for them but from what I heard from coach Nekomata say to coach Naoi was that after these losses, are they going to take responsibility for their own growth and learn from it.

"Sorry Yacchan, my brother asked me help him," I hold up my hand in front, showing a sorry gesture.

"Oh it's fine! I'll see you later." She waves and I start to go the opposite direction. Now, where's my brother?

"Kenma, have you see Tetsurō anywhere?" I turned around, calling out to him.

"He's in the next gym."

"Oh thanks! I'll see you guys later!" I said. I picked up my red bomber jacket from the bench and put it on.

I left the gym and looked up at the blackened sky. The sight of the moon reflected into my eyes and back out. Night was always the prettiest when the sky is filled with the moon and stars. It was much more cooler than it was throughout the day, but that just makes the gyms seem even warmer than it was. I took deep breaths of cold air and continued my way. I turned to the right and see that spring bean with two owls, my brother and a dying Lev to the side. Oh god-

I started to walk in quietly, making sure they don't get distracted from their practice. So I continue to walk along the sidelines, to where Lev was on the floor...
