4 ; Reunited

Through my small window, the sun shone promisingly as it dawned. Lying along my bed, I bring my arms above and elongated my whole body. Trying to stretch out any soreness in my muscles. I carefully sit up and reach for my phone which was next to me as I slept. I checked the time and it was 8:52am. Ugh... This is my worst habit, waking up early. I'm so used to waking up early for school that I've just become accustomed to it. I sigh and flop back onto the bed. I need to unpack and sort out my things. I turn onto my front and buried my face into my pillow, letting out a a loud groan. Within a few seconds I heard a knock my door and the door slide open.

"Mai~" Tetsurō hummed quite loudly, "I'm going to school now."

"Okayy," I replied, keeping my face into my pillow

"Oh, and don't forget to come visit, meet me in front of my school at 3:45 okay. Don't worry, I'll send you how to get there now"

"Okay, nii-chan. Have fun." I say directly

"Bye.." he said, sliding the door close gently.

I stayed in this position for a while, nearly nodding off back to sleep until a notification from my phone woke me up. I turned my head and faced my phone, it read: 'Nii-Chan 😈'. I took a deep breath in and out, and quickly sat up.

I grabbed my phone and waddled over to the bathroom to wash my face and to wake myself up. As I finished, I got the closest hair tie and quickly tied my hair up into a low ponytail. I grabbed my phone and headed back into my room. As I walked in, my phone started buzzing and played my ringtone. I brought the phone close to my face and read the display name. It was dad. I quickly answered it put him on speaker.

"Hello? Mai?" he questions

"Hey dad," I say, I usually speak English to him because I've gotten so used to it.

"Have you arrived safely in Japan?"

"Oh yeah," I respond, "I got mum to pick me up from the train station."

"Ahh, that's good," He replies, "So how is it going?"

"It's going great, I met nii-chan for the first time in a while yesterday," I say, gleefully, "and today I'm going to his school to see Kenma too!"

"That's good honey, now. I've got something to ask you," he says sternly

"Sure, what is it?"

"I was wondering if you want to stay in Japan, continue to live and study there," I stare at my phone intensely, do I want to stay? "I mean, it's up to you."

"I really don't know, I never really thought about it."

"Okay, well, let me know when you have made a decision."

"I will," I say, biting the bottom of my lip lightly

"Now, enough about the serious stuff, let's talk about something fun!" he exclaims. The one thing about my dad that I love the most is that he knows how to deal with serious situation and diffuse the tension.

"Okay!" I reply

Dad and I kept talking for around half an hour when he said he had to go to bed. We talked a lot about what I'm going to do here. He gave me a lot of good places to sight-see at and where I can go on trips to. I have my little post-it note full of locations and such. Talking to him really made me procrastinate. I slightly grin and made my way to the kitchen.

I walked over to the counter and saw two pancakes, with a little note.

"Mai~ I made you some pancakes for breakfast! Please microwave them if they're cold. Love you - Mum"
