The door creaked behind her, making Mai look over her shoulder. She saw how the person was wearing the school's jogging bottoms, so she had to crane her head up to look at the face. 'Oh, it's just Kai..' She thought as Kai smiled and sat next to her.

"I think you forgot something." He said, Mai curiously turned around to see him holding another red jacket. Her eyes widened realising that it was her team jacket that Coach Naoi gave her.

"Oh- I must've left it on the bench. Thank you Kai-san." She smiled whilst he handed her the jacket to her.

"So what are you doing here by yourself?" He asked. Mai returned her gaze upwards towards the sky and proceeded to put the jacket on.

"Just waiting for Nii-chan." She sighed, wondering what took him so long.

"He should be out soon, he's just getting changed." Kai said, as he followed her eye line towards the sky. "He probably waiting for Kenma too."

"Oh, right." Mai nodded as she brought her knees to her chest. Resting her head on her arms that were wrapped around her legs, she wondered what took him so long. Though she was thankful that Kai was there so she didn't feel lonely.

"So you're going to be helping us get to nationals. I look forward to it, when we all get to nationals." Kai stated, before standing up from where he was seated. He started to walk away, making her confused on what was happening. She perked her head up as she saw him turn and smile back around. "Well, I'll see you later Mai-san."

"Um- Bye Kai-san!" She panicked a little, giving him a small wave goodbye. He returned the gesture by waving with his signature smile.

If Mai was right, she remembered that Kai was the vice captain of Nekoma. He seemed so reserved and quiet at first, but that's probably because he has to balance out Tetsurō and Yaku. But Mai figured out that even if he is quiet, Kai enjoys every bit of playing volleyball with the team. He's loud and supportive on court, kind of like a big brother. Or maybe a cousin.

"C'mon Etruscan shrew." Tetsurō's voice said from behind her, continuing to walk away from where she was.

"You- WHAT THE- NII-CHAN!" Mai growled as she stood up furiously. She almost hit Kenma, who had just walked out the door, causing him to stumble backwards. She started to storm her way over, whilst Tetsurō cackled at her reaction and started to run away. "YOU! COME BACK YOU RAT!"

"Um... What's happening?" Yamamoto asked, watching the siblings chase each other around.

"Kuro called Mai an Etruscan shrew." Kenma simply stated, Fukunaga helping him back up to his feet.

"What's that?" Lev also asked, now standing behind the second years, taking a much out of his granola bar.

"It's one of the smallest mammals in the world." Kenma said, following the brother and sister when Mai started to chase her brother with her shoe. Yamamoto, Lev and the silent Fukunaga let out a laugh seeing how that insult shot Mai right in the heart.

"Who do you think will win?" Yamamoto joked, watching Kenma holding her back a little yet the effort was put to waste. "Bet it's Mai."

"Mhm, she has her shoe ready to throw." Lev chuckled, as the three started to walk away.

"C'mon Kuro... Mai please stop.." Kenma groaned, tired from trying to chase them. He saw both of them stop and gave him an innocent look, as if they did nothing wrong. "We'll miss the train because of you idiots."

"Mean, Ke-chan-"

"I'm offended!"
