It's the middle of the night. The darkness around the room envelops me. The only source of light was the moon's shine trying to take peak through the crack of the closed curtains. I was laying on my side, staring into nothing. Why can't I sleep? I'd normally be out like a light but today's just not my day. I guess what happened today just can't escape my brain. Well, how can it? Tsukishima and Yamaguchi's conversation, Tsukishima asking my brother and Bokuto why they have so much motivation. Stuff that really hit me personally because I know I would've asked the same things as Tsukishima.

I blink, not really noticing the difference between the room and my eyelids. I reach out under my pillow, grabbing my phone. I turned on the dimly lit screen adjusted for the dark. Who would be up at this time? Right, Kenma. I go onto my messages as type out 'Hey Kenma, you awake?' and sent it.

I wait there for a few seconds, contemplating whether he actually is awake or not. I guess he's not— Ding! My phone quietly pinged and I saw Kenma's reply, 'Yh, why?'. I start to type out my response.

Kenkotan 💫

Hey Kenma, you awake?

Yh, why?

I can't sleep..

Have you tried listening to music?

Yeh, but it won't work :<

Okay, meet me outside my room

oki

I exit my messages app and kept the home screen on. As I crawled out of my futon, I used the light to guide my way to my trainers. I put them on and silently shuffling out of the room. Good they didn't wake up. I carefully slide the door close, making sure to not make a sound. Once it's closed, I was guided by the moon which was shining into the hallway.

I started to walk to the stairs, making my way down to the boy's level. When I made it to the bottom step, I saw Kenma to my right, standing outside of their sleeping quarters. His phone screen, illuminating his face. As I got closer, he turned his head and saw my sleepy self. I don't know how Kenma can stay up playing video games.

"Let's go outside." He said, placing his phone into his pocket, grabbing my hand in his. "Maybe it'll help."

Our fingers intertwined making as the two of us walked through the hall and out into the night. The coldness of the air encapsulated our bodies, but the warmth of Kenma's hand balanced it out. We walked around the back of the building where there was a grassy hill and we stationed ourselves there. His warm hand left mine and we sat down closely next to each other.

"Is your lip okay?" He asked, quietly. He stared up into the clouded blackened sky, where you could only see glimpses of the moon flash past.

"Oh, yeah. Just stings whenever I drink water, hah.." I say, looking at him.

"Come here," He said, opening his arms, I instantly snuggle myself into his embrace. He normally isn't like this, voluntarily asking me for a hug, "Five years and you've barely changed."

"What's that supposed to mean–" I whined, pouting a little.

"Ah.. Nothing..." He said, leaning his head onto mine. "It just felt weird without you by mine and Kuro's side."
