The fast-paced ticking of the clock
Urging you to mirror its speed
As if you are a horse on a race track
Turned into something you didn't expect to feelThe sound of the clock made you stop
And as you listened to it carefully
You manged to achieve a pace steadilyAnd now you realize that this time,
The clock ticked a bit slower
Your day became a little longer
And you knew this was better
Because you can now appreciate the sun that shinesThe rush of adrenaline and the quick pace
For you not to lose sight of everything
For you to always catch up on something
Is something that has changedThe steps became slower and quieter
It has been more comfortable rather than puzzled
Knowing where exactly you're heading
Knowing exactly what you're gettingA cup of coffee,
The pile of laundry on the edge of your bed,
The remote control sitting on the table,
The dishes at the sinkEverything has come to an ease
The pressure and what ifs of tomorrow has ceased
Because at this very moment
What you have is todayAnd all those workloads,
The worries for the next day,
The pressure for reaching your goals,
The baggage that you carried on your shoulder,
It was all gone for a momentYou knew it may come back any minute
But as you heard the slow ticking of the clock
And felt the aroma of your caramelized coffee
While taking slower and quiter steps towards your balcony
You knew you shouldn't be worried about anything but today
