The bouncer escorts us inside, so we don't have to pay.
The nice lady behind the ticket counter gives up wristbands and wishes us a nice evening. We follow a short hallway into the building and to my surprise, the museum aesthetic continues. We are standing in a gallery with large stairs going up to the first floor. Besides that and the door, we just came through, there is only one more door, which leads to an actual art gallery.
A wild collection of paintings and sculptures is spread throughout the large room. People of different styles take a stroll around, most with a fancy looking cocktail or champagne in their hands. Some of them look like they actually belong in a museum. Not that they were old, but they look like art enthusiasts. The other half looks like us. Ready to party.
"Are you sure, we are in the right place?", Andrew whispers in my ear.
I want to answer him that I have doubts myself when I hear footsteps coming from behind us. I turn around and a group of slightly drunk men walks down the stairs. Their clothes look like they just had a wild sex session and they put them on in a hurry and the hair sticks to their forehead from all the sweat. That looks like a good party. I think I can find enough energy to feed off here. In fact, I immediately start with these humans.
"What kind of party are we going to?", Andrew is obviously nervous.
"Don't worry, you will like it. It's called a dark end party", I say. Both of them stare at me as if I just spoke in another language, so I explain it to them. "The party is in a completely dark room."
They look at me shocked. Okay, maybe they don't really like getting robbed of one of their senses. "Seriously don't worry", I take both their hands and walk up the stairs with them, while I explain the unofficial rules of a dark end party to them.
"So no one is allowed to bring something sharp inside, so don't be surprised that there is a second bouncer upstairs. Don't dance to furiously as to not hit someone. Just go with the flow and no one will be angry if you touch someone. It is basically the only way to know what is going on around you." For me, it sounds wonderful. All dark end parties I have been on were amazing. It is something about the fact that you can't see, so your other senses are enhanced. Especially your sense of touch is heightened.
Mick and Andrew still don't like the idea. I can see it in their eyes but Mick is too horny by now to really care. He just wants to be touched and me to finally feed. I turn to Andrew.
"You can hold my hand the whole time, so we don't lose each other", I stretch out my hand and he takes it.
"The exit is marked with a green light, so if you want to leave just follow the light", I give as last advice before the bouncer makes sure we don't have any objects with us that could hurt people. Then he opens a door for us and we step into darkness.
The door falls shut and we are surrounded by loud music.
The bass is vibrating through my body and I feel my senses tingle. I still hold Andrew's hand and I search for Mick with my other. When I find it, I signal Mick to go forward. That is the last time I have confirmed contact with Mick.
I pull Andrew forward with me as well and bring us a few meters inside the crowd of people. Even if you can't see them, you can hear breathing over the quieter part of songs, can feel the heat of bodies around you, and the occasional touches.
The only person I can picture is Andrew with his hand in mine. For a moment I just stand there not moving. I feel the atmosphere and the almost electric energy in the room. Slowly my hips start to move with the beat. I let my head fall back and I take a deep breath. Right on cue, the music changes in a slow electronic RNB song and I let myself fall.
