I stretch my neck so I can look into my room. Up-side-down I see Mick sitting on my bed. His head hanging and the arms around his own body. He isn't well.

"Hug?", I ask and see him nodding. I stand up and work toward him. Andrew follows and we both pull Mick into a hug.

For minutes we just sit there. Mick doesn't cry. He is just silent. Then eventually he starts talking and gives us short summary of what Dustin just told him.

It turns out, Dustin doesn't like me. I know, a real shocker.

The reason is interesting though. From what Dustin told Mick it's not because I dragged Mick down and now Mick is destroying the perfect image Dustin built for himself. Dustin is just afraid that his family breaks apart. Again.

"His biological mum left our dad and he thinks it is his fault. So he tried everything to please our parents just to not fuck up another time. He said he was given another chance and now he thinks I make the same mistake he did. Being selfish and just throwing my family away", Mick tells us. "Please tell me I am not selfish."

"You're not selfish", I say without hesitation.

"Well, ...", Andrew says.

Mick's head shoots up and I see his eyes go wide. Andrew is taken aback by the reaction.

"I just mean you are refusing to talk to your parents. I don't say you should forgive them but speak to them, please."

Mick lets his head fall again. After a moment he nods his head.

"Tomorrow", Mic whispers and curls himself up on the bed. I agree, he should definitely not speak to them tonight. Too much happened today. But there is one thing I have to ask him.

"So how did the conversation with the principal go?"

"Surprisingly good. Andrew, you were right. The school has a strict anti-bullying policy. After I explained what happened. Nathaniel got suspended for two weeks. Apparently a teacher has seen the whole thing and reported it to the principal just like I described it."

"That must have been prof Wyle", I say and look at Andrew.

"Prof Wyle?", Mick is confused. "As in your hot psychology professor?"

Did I hear correctly? Did Mick just call prof Wyle hot? I can't argue but this is the first time he admitted to finding a guy hot except for Andrew and me.

Mick also seems to notice what he just said. His face gets red and his mouth hangs open. I can't even imagine what a storm is currently raging in his head. As much as I would like to dig deeper into that I don't want to make it seem like a big deal. Mick should feel comfortable expressing every one of his emotions and attractions around us without exception.

"Yes, that prof Wyle. He saw the fight and promised us that he would make sure to help you."

"Why didn't he step in?", Mick wants to know.

"He had his reasons", Andrew says. Mick turns to him and raises a brow. Andrew looks at me for a second to get my okay. I nod and he looks back at Mick.

"Prof Wyle wanted to see how Koda would react to us both being in danger."

"Why would he do that?", Mick is so confused.

"He wanted proof that Koda is an incubus", Andrew continues. Mick's mouth opens again. This time without the red face.

"He knows?" Then he turns around and looks at me. "Your dad is right you should really be more careful. You have to hide more. Now a random teacher knows your secret."

"Don't worry. He won't tell. I know something about him that kind of guarantees that."

"What?"

"He is an incubus too"

"He is ...", Mick stops, "... another Incubus ..." The gears in his head work on maximum. His brain really needs a rest after all of this. "How many of you are there?", Mick finally asks.

"Not many", I say not having a single clue if there are more incubi in the area. "I was just as shocked as you are when he told me."

"And Andrew, you know?"

Andrew nods and then tells Mick what happened yesterday with prof Wyle. Toward the end, Mick lies down on the bed and sighs.

"I am so glad, he saw. Now I just have to do some unpaid work for the university", Mick mumbles and closes his eyes. I lie down next to him and pull him in. Andrew lies down as well. We stay in this position for a while until I have to stand up.

Honestly, I want to stay and cuddle Mick some more but I have to go. Work is calling. So I let Andrew in charge of cuddling, while I make my way over to my job and do boring inventory.

So much happened today that my mind isn't really focused. Surprisingly I don't make any mistakes but I am unbelievably slow. The simplest mental maths take ages. And then, at one point, I stay in front of another boring shelve when a thought strikes me.

I haven't told Mick anything about the conversation I had with Ember.
