"y/n, has your soulmate wrote anything yet? cause mine hasn't.." mirage looked at his arm and basically his entire body. you look at your arm, nope, nothing so you shake your head. he sighs and so do you, both of you slumping in his room.

"y'know, if we both turn out to be each other's soulmate, that'd be so funny, y'know because we'd be searching and searching and then we find out.. and.. and.. you get what i mean." he rambles, making you giggle as a reply and elliot's heart skipped a beat. god, he didn't care if you weren't his soulmate, he wanted to be with you either way.

"ah, you're funny, mirage. anyway, i better head to my room before crypto gets any ideas," you waved at him and he blushed slightly, waving back. "bye-bye mirage!"

"b-bye.." as soon as you shut his room door, he let out a small groan. "goddamnit, why can't i tell her?"

"tell her what, old man?-"

"woah, when did you get in here?!" mirage jumped in fright from crypto's sudden appearance, his hands in his coat pockets.

"now, so, what do you want to tell y/n?" he say down next to mirage, his normal stone-cold face looking at mirage's.

"oh, nothing, new guy-"

"i'm not new, you do realise loba got here just today?-"

"oh forget it. you found your soulmate kid?" he asked crypto, he shrugged, laying on mirage's bed.

"I don't have one." ouch, those words made mirage feel bad for crypto. mirage sighed, grabbing a pen and started writing on his arm.

"hey soulmate! what you up to?"

he sat and waited for a bit, tapping the pen on his desk, before he saw something scribbled back in neat print handwriting.

"just reading, you?"

"just chilling, what're you reading?"

"northern lights, you should read it someday."

"books aren't my style, but i will just for you."

he smiled and chuckled.

"what's got you in a good mood?" crypto got up and looked at mirage's arm, a small smile creeping onto his face. "you started to talk to them, sounds a lot like y/n, i could recognise that writing anywhere, they're reading that book as well."

"i-it could just be a coincidence, y-y'know?" he stuttered, is it really you? he couldn't believe it but he did at the same time. mirage was almost jumping in joy, but what if it isn't you? it's better to try and see if you were and not to let the opportunity pass.

mirage got up as crypto waved him goodbye, your room was just across from his so he just had a quick jog there. once he got there he opened the door, leaving you a bit surprised since he would usually knock before entering, like the gentleman he is.

"let me see your arm, y/n." he begged, it left you in shock.

"what?"

"let me see your arm." you decided just to comply and showed him your arm, seeing the exact conversation you just had with him. mirage's eyes widened and he showed you his arm, your eyes widening as well.

"you were right, elliot," you managed to say after seconds of awkward silence. "we are soulmates."

"i guess i'm the luckiest man in the world, huh?" he gave his dorky smile, making you blush and hug him, a grin plastering on your face.

"just don't bamboozle me on our first date, deal?" you held out your hand for him to shake and he did so, giving a small peck to your knuckles.

"why would i bamboozle my own soulmate?" he joked, making you punch his shoulder. elliot gave a small laugh.

you were both definitely going to be the dorkiest couple in apex history.
