The Truth

One

We had just broken up, but Lucas was my everything. I ended things shortly after Haley and Nathan's wedding. But I missed him, I would go to sleep and feel this shooting pain in my stomach. Then I wonder how Lucas feels.

"I miss her, I didn't want this, we made a mistake Peyton." Lucas said talking to Peyton.

Peyton nodded her head in a agreement with anything Lucas said.

"So what brings you here today Ms Davis?" The nurse asked.

Brooke was nervous, "I think I'm pregnant."

The nurse nodded "Have you had any symptoms and have you taken any tests?" She asked writing things down on her clipboard.

"I have been throwing up quite a bit, I'm late.."

Brooke had remembered when she slipped and told Lucas that she was late and quickly changed her wording. In that moment she could tell he was scared.

"But I haven't taken a test I dont have a lot of money right now I..."

"Okay no worries sweetheart, the doctor will be in shortly and I will get you that test and we will check everything." She said walking out.

I can't be pregnant I don't even have a place to stay.

She was staying with Peyton until everything went downhill with them. Now she was just sleeping in her car.

Minutes had passed and the test results were back, the doctor walked in and gave her some papers "Well you're definitely pregnant."

Brooke was speechless.

The doctor went over some things with her and then Brooke got in her car and left. She was crying so much she had to pull over and park on the side of the road. She pulled out her phone and dialed Lucas' number but then deleted it fast, she wasn't going to tell him yet. She quickly dialed her mother's number. But they hadn't talked in weeks.

"Hello this is Victoria who am I speaking with ?" Her mother said in the phone.

"Mom." Brooke said still sobbing.

"Brooke?"

"Mom, I don't know what to do."

"Slow down, why are you calling me? What happened?"

"I'm pregnant."

"What?" "What do you mean?" Her mother yelled.

"I will explain everything later but I have nowhere to go, I need to come there with you I need you to buy me a plane ticket."

"Well, of course you are coming with me, I will get a flight by tomorrow. I will pick you up in LA." Her mother said hanging up the phone.

Everything Brooke ever owned was already in her car, but she couldn't bring it all she would leave her car with Haley and just bring some necessities. Brooke explained everything to Haley but only Haley. The next morning she said goodbye to her and Haley took her to the airport. Brooke got on the plane holding her stomach tight. Once she landed Victoria picked her up and they drove to her home. Brooke had explained the story to her and Victoria said many times she was very disappointed in her.

Brooke was only 17 and pregnant, luckily it was her senior year so she finished her classes at home during the day. Brooke would sometimes stay with her father. Once Brooke had finished school she got a job as an intern while she was 8 months pregnant. Then she had gone into labor a few weeks later, no one was there to hold her hand and that's when she really missed Lucas. Brooke gave birth to a little boy named Nicholas Keith Scott. Brooke thought it appropriate to name him with Scott.

4 years later

"Nicholas, time to wake up and go to grandpa's."

Brooke had found her own home, and she would leave Nicholas with her dad while Brooke would work during the day. She ran the coffee cart at a law firm but she also did some paper work.

After her long day at work, she got Nicholas from her dad's and took him home. "Did you have a good day mommy?" He asked eating his dinner.

"Yes baby, I did. Did you?"

"Yeah, grandpa got me ice cream!"

"He did?"

Nicholas nodded getting mac and cheese all down his shirt.

Brooke gave him a bath and then set him in his bed. "Alright bug sleep tight." Brooke got him comfortable and kissed his head, she turned on his light and started to walk out.

"Mommy?" Brooke paused and turned around "when will I see my daddy?"

Brooke didn't say anything but just smiled "Goodnight Nicholas."

"Goodnight momma." He said closing his eyes.

Brooke left his room with mixed feelings then she heard her phone ringing. It was Haley facetiming her.

They still talked regularly, Brooke answered and sat down on her couch. "Hey."

"Hey!" Haley said. She noticed that Brooke was not her normal self.

"You okay?" Haley asked

"Yeah, it's just he just asked when he will see his dad."

"Oh." Haley said sighing.

"I wanna tell him, but Lucas doesn't even know about him."

Haley nodded. "Well maybe it's time you guys come for a visit, I haven't seen my best friend in 4 years and he would have so much fun with Jamie they are only 4 months apart."

Brooke understood "I would love to come there, but it's just Lucas...I-"

"You haven't seen him in sooo long Brooke, you don't even have to tell him it's his kid, Luke still talks about you you broke his heart."

"He broke mine Haley, he cheated on me with my best friend."

Haley understood, nodding her head. Brooke continued "I'll think about it. But I gotta go my dad is calling in."

They said their goodbyes, and Brooke went on with her night
