Eleven

Today was Nicholas 5th birthday party, he was more excited than ever, Brooke had organized the whole thing, Julian wouldn't make it because he was in New Zealand shooting a movie but he told Brooke he would send him a present. Nicholas invited lots of his friends from school, but he was most excited to see Jamie. Once everyone got there they let the kids play, not a lot of the parents stayed, but some did. Brooke was wondering why Lucas wasn't coming, he told her that he was coming. It was his son's party, he couldn't miss it. Nicholas ran down the stairs and went to Brooke with his toy sword in his hands "When's daddy coming?" He asked her.

"Soon." Brooke said, the boys went back upstairs and Brooke went into the kitchen.

"You okay?" Haley asked.

"Yeah, I just don't know where Lucas is... he told me he was coming."

"I'm sure he will be here, maybe he is getting him a present."

Brooke heard a knock at the door, she ran to it and saw Lucas standing there. "Hey, thank God you're here." Brooke said hugging Lucas.

"Yeah, sorry I'm late, I had to get a present." He said holding it up. "No Julian?" He asked.

"No, he is in New Zealand, but he left Nicholas a present." Lucas nodded and they joined everyone in the living room. The kids came down and they ate dinner, then Brooke got Nicholas in his chair and they sat around to watch him open his presents.

"That one is from us." Jamie said. He opened it and it was a basketball.

"Oh cool! Thanks uncle Nate, aunt Haley, and Jamie!"

He opened all of his friends presents and then opened Brooke's. She got him a Jersey with his name on it. "Thanks momma!"

"Your welcome baby!" Lucas smiled at Brooke.

"Dad can I open yours?" Lucas handed him the gift, it had 2 video games, and some shoes. "Thank you!" He said.

"Alright one last one from Julian, he couldn't come but he sent something uncle Nathan is gonna get it." Brooke said. Lucas was curious.

Nathan came in with a huge box "What's that?" He asked

"That's a good question." Brooke said confused. Nathan set down the box in front of Nicholas. Lucas looked at Brooke and she looked back at him.

"Woah dad! Look Julian got me a basketball hoop!"

"So cool!" Lucas said.

"Mom did you know about this?" Nicholas asked her.

"No, not one tiny bit." Brooke laughed and looked at Haley.

The party went on, they had cake, and talked more. Everyone left but Lucas stayed for a while, he helped Nicholas put up his basketball hoop. Brooke cleaned the house while they did that, she stood in the kitchen and they were in the living room. She called Julian. "Hey baby." He said over the phone.

"Hey! That was some present." She said.

"Did he like it?"

"He loves it, Lucas is helping him put it together right now." Lucas and Nicholas both looked at her. Nicholas jumped out of his seat and ran to Brooke "Is that Julian?"

Brooke nodded and handed Nicholas the phone. "Hey Julian!"

"Hey dude! How did you like your present?"

"I love it, it's awesome!"

"Well I'm glad! Hey when I get back you can teach me how to play okay?"

"Okay."

"Alright, let me talk to your mom." Nicholas handed Brooke her phone, and ran back to Lucas, he was still staring at Brooke.

"Alright, well I gotta go, I miss you and I cant wait to see you baby, I love you." Julian said, making Brooke smile.
"I love you too. Bye." She said hanging up the phone. Lucas looked at her and she looked back, but quickly walked over with a positive attitude. "How is it coming?" She asked.

"We are gonna finish tomorrow."  Lucas said standing up.

"Alright, Nicholas go get your pajamas on!! I'll be up soon!" Brooke said as he ran up the stairs.
"How is Julian?" Lucas asked.
"Good, he is good."
"When is he coming back?"
"2 weeks." Lucas nodded.
"He's a good dude, Nicholas seems to really like him."
"Yeah he is. They get along so well."
"You love him?"
"Lu-" Brooke started to say.
"Momma I'm ready!" Nicholas yelled from upstairs.

"Alright I'm coming!" She said going upstairs.

Brooke went upstairs and went in his room she didn't know Lucas was right behind her. "I'm ready!" Brooke grabbed him and through him on his bed. She covered him up and sat at the edge "Did you have a good day today?" She asked.

"Yeah." He said.
"Good, you deserved it. How old are you now 50?!!" She said tickling him.
"5" he said laughing.
"I love you Nicholas!" She said.
"I love you too." Brooke kissed him on his head. Lucas smiled at them.

"Mommy? Do you love Julian?"

Brooke paused and replied "Yes, I do."

"Do you love daddy?"

Brooke wasn't expecting these questions from him. Lucas stood there watching waiting for an answer, any answer. "Of course I love your dad." She said.

"More than Julian?" He said.

"Alright, alright 20 questions, its bedtime."

"Okay goodnight momma! Dad you should stay tonight!" He said sitting up. Brooke looked behind her and saw Lucas standing in the doorway.
"Uh, I dont think so buddy."

"Please daddy, it's my birthday." He said making Lucas laugh.

"Only if your mom says yes." He said looking at Brooke.

"Sure." She said.

"Yes!" Nicholas said. Brooke immediately walked out ignoring Lucas.

"Goodnight buddy." Lucas said.
"Goodnight daddy."

Lucas followed Brooke down the stairs. She set her hands in her face and sighed heavily. "Brooke!"

"Lucas I can't, not right now."
"Its okay, that you love Julian, but I will never stop loving you like I always have."

Brooke ran to the bathroom and Lucas followed her, she started to throw up and Lucas held her hair back. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"No." She said crying.
Lucas looked at her confused. "I'm pregnant Luke." She hugged him and kept crying in his arms.

Her and Julian were having a baby.
