"Julian!" Lucas yelled

Julian turned seeing Nicholas and Lucas standing by the waiting room
"What happened to momma?" Nick asked as Lucas stared

"Mom isn't doing very well right now, Luke can i talk to you for a sec." Julian asked as Lucas followed telling nick to wait there with Haley.

"She has cancer, Luke. They said they don't know if the baby will make it through." Lucas through his hands over his head. "You should take Nick for a little, so we can figure out what to do." Lucas nodded, they continued to talk and then Lucas took nicholas to his house, he couldn't bear the thought of seeing Brooke like that.

Nicholas had asked to play at the rivercourt, Lucas agreed thinking it would be good for both of them. When they got there, Lucas saw a familiar face he hadn't seen in almost 5 years. Peyton. She was sitting on the bench and Lucas wasn't sure if he should talk to her and let her be and walk away.
"Dad who is that?" Nicholas whispered harshly causing Peyton to turn there way.
"Nick, go shoot around i will be there in a sec."

He sat down next to Peyton "what are you doing here peyton?"

"Been a while Luke." She replied with a nervous smile. He said nothing so she comtinued "I heard about Brooke, that must be hard." Lucas replied with a nod looking towards his son.
"What made her want to come back anyway?" Lucas held his head towards Nick.
"Our son." Peyton was confused, she didn't know they had a child.

"That's-"
"Yeah it is." He answered for her.

"Wow." She said in shock "I didn't know Brooke even got pregnant."

"She moved to cali as soon as she found out, Hales was the only one who even knew she had a baby. I met him last year, its been the best thing."

"Well that's great Lucas, i am happy he found his way to you." Lucas looked at peyton as she said those words.
"What were we thinkin Peyton? We basically broke her resulting in her moving away just to find out she was so scared to tell me, and i am his own father."

Peyton shook her head. "You guys seem happy now, i mean its a little family again." Lucas sarcastically chuckled.

"We are not a family, she's in love with someone else, Julian."

"Do you love her?" Peyton said seriously.

"Of course i love her, i never stopped but its too late." He said throwing his hands up.

"It's never too late, Luke. Look over there, that is your son. Its always been Brooke & Luke, my two closest friends! If you want her Luke, and i mean truly love her and your boy, go get her, don't wait."

"I don't know peyt." He said unsure.

"Just...think about it, okay??" She said walking away.

He did.

He thought about it all night. But was still unsure
