"Hey Lucas!" Nicholas said giving him a high five

"Hey little dude what's up!"

"Nothing, mommas been crying all morning. I don't want to leave her maybe she can come with us."

"Yeah, where's your mom?" He asked looking around, worried.

Nicholas pointed to Brooke's bedroom and Lucas headed into her room. As Lucas walked in he saw Brooke sitting on the floor, crying but as soon as she saw him, she stood up and dried her tears, "Hey Luke, you're good to take him whenever."

"Yeah, I--I already saw him, are you alright?" He asked moving closer.

"Yeah, just thinking about the past, you know, when I look at him all I remember is us."

Lucas wasn't sure what to say so she continued "I'm gonna tell him tomorrow but I dont think you should be here when I do so take him to the Rivercourt today and I'll let you know what happens." Brooke said walking out.

"Brooke! I want you to know that I would do anything for him, even if we were still in school."

Brooke smiled, "Thanks Lucas."

All three of them walked downstairs, Brooke said goodbye and Lucas and Nicholas headed to the rivercourt.

"So why was momma crying?" He asked taking a shot.

"I don't know bud." Lucas said handing him the ball.

Nicholas shot the ball and then Lucas took a shot "Did you play basketball in high school with my dad?"

"I did, but not with your dad."

"Momma says I am good at basketball from him."

"You're pretty talented." Lucas said shooting. "Hey, you might not know who your dad is, but he knows you, and I am sure he loves you and is proud of you and your mom."

"Well I don't think so, my daddy hurt my momma and left her, so she had to raise me on her own."

"Is that what she told you?"

"No, but she always cries and I think its because she misses him." Lucas stayed quiet and they continued to play basketball in silence.

Now all he could think about was what Brooke was thinking about all those years, he had wished that he would have been there when she was pregnant. "Sooo Lucas, do you have a girlfriend or any kids?" Nicholas asked

"Nope."

Later that day, Lucas took Nicholas home, they had a long day and he crashed on the couch. Lucas thought he would stay for a while. He sat at the island with Brooke. "What have you told him...about me?"

"Nothing really, just that he got his basketball talent from his father and that I don't talk to you anymore."

Lucas nodded. "Why?" She asked.

"I think it's good that you are telling him tomorrow." Lucas said.

Brooke nodded, "I'll see myself out." Lucas said heading to the door.

"Luke? You are a good dad okay?" She said.

He smiled and left. Brooke looked over to Nicholas who was sleeping on the couch. Then Haley had called Brooke.

They talked about everything that had been happening and she told her about Nicholas.

Brooke carried him to bed and then went to her room. She got a text from Lucas before turning off her phone. "Goodnight Nick, I love you buddy."

Brooke smiled and turned off her lights. She was nervous to tell him, but she knew that he would be excited.
