dear hope,

have you ever been homeless? it is scary. it makes your fingers shake and your eyes swell. the nights are cold and endless.

hope, do you know what it is like to live every day wondering where you will be sleeping that night?

i do.

it makes you appreciate a warm bed more than you ever have before. it makes you appreciate a shower more than you ever have before. it makes you appreciate the everyday things that you have never had to think about before.

i may not be the homeless girl anymore, hope, but those feelings never leave.

love,

heaven rae
