Mia's POV

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked ready to take on the responsibilities that lay ahead of me. I was born ready to take over my pack. My dad sneaked up beside me and spun me around. I laughed and gave him a hug.

"Mom would be so proud of you right now honey." He told me and I gave him a sad smile. My mom died unfortunately by rouges, but she died protecting our pack. That's the way luna's are supposed to go out. After that, my dad realized I would have to be his only heir to the alpha position. He threw out the usual societal rules and traditions to put a women in charge. The pack never questioned it, other packs tried. The Eclipse Pack, our biggest ally, was one of the few that still doubted my leadership qualities.

My father started training me after her funeral. I was officially at every meeting, mandatory physical training, and assigned homework. I loved every second of it. My dad and I grew super close with my training and it helped us heal from my mom. My dad will never fully recover from losing his mate though. I felt sorry for him, having to wake up every morning and face that reality. So I tried to be the best daughter for him, try to ease some of his pain.

So today was my coronation day, I was going to officially be alpha, the first female alpha in history. I felt honored with this privilege, my whole pack did. I looked in the mirror and saw a younger version of my mom looking back at me. "This one is for you Mom." I told her and my dad squeezed my arm.

"The Eclipse Pack has decided to send their newly appointed alpha and beta to witness the ceremony. They want to make sure you know they still are allies." I nodded. Thankfully, we have kept all our original allies for now. I expected some resistance, hoped for nothing more than some harsh words.

"Let's go make history Dad." I told him as he lead me outside. There was nothing official set up, just the whole pack sitting down on picnic and outdoor blankets. I refused to use any pack money or supplies on this day. Everyone smiled at me and I smiled back at my pack. My heart felt full at their love and support. This was my home and family.

My wolf stired inside me but I figured it was just the ceremony. She was aching to finally have the power to help her pack.

James's POV (a couple days earlier at his coronation)

I wasn't nervous at all for this day, I was ready. My father has prepared me for this day my whole life. All of my pack rejoiced in embracing me as their new alpha. I just wished I had a luna by my side, but my father warned me to be patient. He was alpha for five years before he meet my mom.

I looked in the mirror at myself and saw my eyes shift to hazel. My wolf wanted out, wanted to feel the power coursing through my veins. I was afraid that my wolf only wanted the power from this position. The human side of me wanted to help my pack, my family. I told my father about these concerns, but he assured me it was just the animal inside of me. I was ready to be a great leader.

I walked down to our stage we set up. All my pack looked at me with pride. I walked up to the front with confidence, I was ready to be Alpha of the Eclipse Pack.

Mia's POV

I went up front and cleared my voice. My pack quieted down to hear me speak. "I first want to say how grateful I am to see all of your faces today. I truly appreciate your love and support through these years, especially after the passing of our luna. And with her memory in mind, I will strive to be a great alpha for this pack. I hope to be as half as good as my dad is. I love each and every one of you. I will strive to protect us and nurture us. Though I may seem sweet on the outside, don't underestimate my power. I am ready to defend this pack and all of its members until I take my last breath. I am willing to make the ultimate sacrifice just like my brave mother. Thank you again."
