Mia's POV

I went back to my office and noticed my pack getting back from school and work. Everyone was so happy to be back here with their families. Many of the members saw me and respectfully bowed their heads. I still had power over my people. I could do this. I felt as if someone hugged my mind, and I jumped.

I melted into the hug as I was overcome with feelings of peace. I needed some of that as I approached the council. "I need to discuss something at once with the council," I told them, and they sat down. Most of the time, the council just sat around the room talking and goofing off. They didn't need to be at this job all the time. It was for occasions like this one.

"We have a traitor apprehended in our cells, Tasha Englewood betrayed this pack and sold information to our ally Broken Light pack. I am in talks with the pack in regards to if we keep this alliance. We have documents she made for Alpha Paul about me. She has pictures of every pack member. I do not wish to alert the pack of this traitor to help reduce panic. For now, we haven't released anything to them ."

"Thank you, Alpha Mia. We agree with your testimonial. As for Tasha's case, that is still up in the area of how we proceed. Our punishing will be dependent on how much loyal she is still to the pack. As for the Broken Light Pack, I wish to implore further information on why they decided to betray us."

"I know the Broken Light Pack has been a loyal ally to us before any of us were born. However, their Alpha's ideals are very much rooted in the past. I have one multiple occasion that had my authority and power over this pack questioned because of my gender. That Alpha believes that women cannot lead a pack as anything but a luna. I have decided to very graciously given him a second chance to prove his loyalty."

Just then, my walkie talkie interrupted. "Redtower to Cupcake, we have unauthorized visitors approaching from the Broken Light pack over."

"All warriors secure this pack right now. We evacuate every pack member into the house and guard it. I will be up there, be cautious with this pack I have reason to believe they wish to attack over." I told everyone through the mind link to safely go to our shelter houses that thankfully only we know about. Hopefully, Tasha didn't reveal this information as well.

I decided to send out a message that may get me killed. 'James, I know we aren't talking right now. I need 10 of your best men, please. Broken Light pack is here for a visit, and I doubt it's pleasantries.' I said through the mind link, hoping his wolf will get the message.

I stripped and shifted while running to where the Redtower guards are. The council followed me, ready to defend our pack. "Well, it looks like princess Mia is ready to party. Well, I'm ready to dance." Alpha Paul told me and spat in my direction. My pack held themselves back from attacking him based on disrespecting me.

"I told you on the phone Alpha that it takes an insecure man to be threatened by a woman." One of the council members told him for me. I used the mind link to communicate with Alpha Paul since I needed to be my wolf.

"You know everyone says that your mom was the greatest wolf the moon goddess graced us with. Everyone is wrong; your mother was nothing other than a whore." I clenched my jaw so hard it hurt. I had to keep myself from ripping him apart limb by limb.

'I'm ten minutes with back up' I heard in my brain but refused to show this. I didn't need help saving; I just needed back up. I told myself I wasn't weak with calling him; you need allies to fight allies sometimes.

"You don't know enough about my mother to say anything." The council member said for me after I mind linked them.

"Oh, so your dad never told you that he was your mother's second chance mate." He laughed, and I felt my stomach want to throw up. "I rejected your mom when she was fifteen because she was weak, just like you. You always have to rely on other people's help; I bet you called him here to help back you up."
