Sewa sat in the sitting room with her siblings, tapping her foot. She checked her phone, waiting for a phone call from Nate. He had arrived in Abuja yesterday and she had been waiting for him to call when he got to her place.
They were watching a special episode of "Life as a teenager' where Nathan Ross showed up as a special guest to surprise the Dunhams. It was funny how the same thing was going to happen to her siblings any moment now.
Now watching the show and knowing this was how Malia and Nate first met and started going out, she wasn't a bit bothered by it. Well, until Jojo just had to open her big mouth.
"I wish Malia and Nate were still dating."
"I know right. They were really adorable together. Why is Hollywood romance so cursed?" Joke whined dramatically.
They were not that perfect, she thought sourly.
"Not for me. My marriage to Noah Centineo is ordained by God," Jojo said.
"Keep dreaming. Like you are ever going to meet him or any celebrity. Ordinary Small doctor, you haven't even met," Damola quipped.
Sewa shook her head. They had no clue. Joke did know that her boyfriend was coming over after she caught her on the phone with him but she was still in the dark about who it was. Her phone vibrated and she picked it up to see it was a text message from Nathan.
I'm here
She smiled, beyond excited for what was to come.
Ring the doorbell, she typed back and dropped her phone back. Thankfully, Mohammed wasn't around so things would play out quite nicely.
"Joy, go get the door," Damola said, not removing his eyes from his phone's screen.
"Why me?" she whined.
"You're the youngest," Jojo replied, playing with her cornrows.
"We're twins."
"But you're still Kehinde. Now go before I make you," Damola replied.
She pouted and stood up, walking out of the house. She stomped all way to the gate, grumbling.
Where's Mohammed when you need him, she thought.
"Who's there?" she asked harshly. Whoever it is, he or she should better hurry up so she could get back to the TV. They were almost at the part where Nathan Ross shows up.
"A friend," the voice said simply.
She frowned, not recalling any friends with that accent. She opened the door and stuck her head out, ready to tell whoever was there that they had the wrong house and she froze mid-sentence.
Standing right outside her door, wearing a Nike hoodie and jeans with sunshades was none other than the Nathan Ross. He removed the glasses, his green eyes staring at her as he smiled brightly.
"Thank God. I got the right house, that could have ended badly. Hi, you're Joy, right? Or is it Jojo? Sorry, I can't tell you apart from your twin yet," he said nervously, rubbing the back of his head.
She stared at him in amazement, her brain trying to process what was going on. Nathan Ross, in her house. And he knew her name with the fact that she was a twin.
"Excuse me one second," she said, slamming the door shut and running as fast as her legs could carry her to the house.
"Joy! What did Daddy say about slamming the door?" Damola chided as soon as she rushed in.
She looked at the TV, the part where Kara's brother opened the door to find the then eighteen-year-old Nathan at their doorstep already playing.
"He... Came... At our house," she spluttered, jumping up and down excitedly while pointing at the TV.
