(y/n) pushed her trolley down the station, excitement brimming inside of her. Her mother was following her to make sure she wasn't kidnapped before she was able to make it to the platform.

"Now are you sure you have everything?" her mother asked.

"Yes mum. For the tenth time, I double checked last night." (y/n) replied, a little irritated from the number of times she'd been asked.

"I'm sorry. I'd just hate for you to get there and realize you had forgotten something. Please make sure to write while you're at school, okay?" her mother asked.

   "I will. I promise." (y/n) answered.

Mrs. Adler pulled her in for a big hug. (y/n) felt as though she might be crushed by the force her mother was using. She pulled away and held (y/n)'s face in her hands.

"I will see you at Christmas." she said.

(y/n) nodded, breaking away from her mother's grip. She rolled her trolley with her to the wall that Professor McGonagall had described. She saw a flicker of black hair rush through the wall and disappear. She lined her trolley up to head for the wall and began running towards it. She closed her eyes as she neared it, somewhat expecting to hit the wall and bounce backwards but when she opened her eyes, she was at platform 9 and 3/4.

She looked around at the many students hurrying about and saying their goodbyes to their parents. (y/n) pushed her trolley down the walkway and grabbed her trunk before boarding the train. She lugged her things down the aisle, eyeing up all of the compartments where students sat with each other. She found a compartment that a few students seemingly her age were occupying and entered. There was a girl with brown frizzy hair and fairly large front teeth, a boy with brown hair and a toad on his lap, and a girl with straight red hair.

"Would you mind if I joined you all?" (y/n) asked nervously.

"Sure. The more the merrier!" the brown haired boy spoke.

He seemed very enthusiastic as (y/n) pushed her trunk under the seat and sat down next to him. She looked down at the toad in his lap in disgust. She wasn't a huge fan of frogs or toads, but tried not to make a big fuss over it.

"I'm Hermione. Hermione Granger. What's your name?" the frizzy haired girl asked.

(y/n) looked up from the toad in the boy's lap and at the girl in front of her. Hermione was holding out her hand for (y/n) to shake.

"I'm (y/n)...Adler." she responded, shaking the girl's hand.

"Nice to meet you, (y/n). I'm Neville." the boy with the toad chimed in.

(y/n) gave him a soft smile.

"And I'm Susan." the red headed girl stated.

The train started to move and Hermione squealed in excitement.

"Oh I just can't wait to be at Hogwarts! I've been reading up on it all summer! I come from an all muggle family so when my letter came in the mail, none of us believed it. That is, until Professor McGonagall came knocking on our door. " Hermione explained.

"I hope I get sorted into Hufflepuff! My mom was a Hufflepuff." Susan announced excitedly.

"I just hope I'm not sorted into Slytherin." Neville remarked with a nervous tone.

"What's wrong with Slytherin? What is a Slytherin?" (y/n) asked.

"They're the houses. Do you not know about the sorting ceremony?" Hermione asked.
