A small snake began slithering across the floor towards the courtyard. (y/n) followed it as to make sure it got out of the castle safely. It started to grow as it reached the entrance hall, becoming more than 100 times the size it was. She heard a faint voice speaking a language she didn't understand and the snake slithered away. (y/n) followed it, the voice growing louder until she was met with a boy, the snake slithering up beside him. (y/n) had never seen him before, but she could tell he was older than her, maybe in his sixth or seventh year. He was a Slytherin with curly brown hair. He stared at her with an evil grin on his face, still speaking to the snake. Suddenly, the snake turned to her and once again, she saw the piercing yellow eyes that turned her vision black.

(y/n) opened her eyes, the light from the morning sun blinding her. She quickly got out of bed and grabbed her notebook, writing down everything she remembered from her dream. She reread her last entry, comparing the notes to see if they were related in any way. This was the second time she had dreamed about a snake with yellow eyes.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Hermione asked, glancing over her shoulder.

(y/n) quickly shut her book with a thud and turned to her friend with a smile.

   "Nothing." she answered.

Hermione eyed her curiously.

"Are you sure? It didn't seem like nothing." she stated.

"Yeah, I mean, it's just some homework." (y/n) lied.

Hermione didn't believe her but decided to leave it be.

"Well I'm going down for breakfast. Are you coming?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'll be right down." (y/n) replied.

Hermione nodded and pulled her bag up over her shoulder as she left the room. Once she had closed the door, (y/n) opened up her notebook again and began scribbling down notes, trying to find the connection between her dreams.

(y/n) looked up from her textbook, bored from her studying. She saw Harry staring blankly at his textbook, his eyes not moving across the page. He picked his head up and stared back at (y/n). She gave him a small smile and looked away, embarrassed that he had caught her staring at him. Harry looked around the room, noticing some Hufflepuffs giving him odd looks and whispering to each other. He stood up and packed his things as the other three Gryffindors watched.

   "What's wrong, Harry?" Hermione asked.

He tossed the strap of his bag over his shoulder and stormed out without a word.

   "Poor Harry." Ron said.

"I think he would've been a lot better if you both hadn't put it in his head that he's the heir of Slytherin." (y/n) mentioned.

"I mean, it's a pretty big possibility since he can speak Parseltongue. That's a huge similarity." Hermione defended.

"Well now he's noticing that everyone is looking at him differently." (y/n) replied.

"He would've noticed that anyway." Ron stated.

"But at least he would have known that his friends had his back!" she exclaimed. A few people turned to look at the commotion. Hermione and Ron hung their heads slightly to avoid being noticed. (y/n) sighed. "Sorry, I just feel bad for him and I don't know what to do to help."

"Well you don't need to take it out on us." Ron remarked.

"Well you two are the reason he's acting so upset." she retorted.
