"So (y/n), tell us all about Hogwarts." Mrs. Adler prompted as they all ate their dinner.
(y/n) put down her fork to speak, a wide grin appearing on her face.
"Well first, there's four houses that students are sorted into based off of your personality or something. There's Hufflepuff, which is associated with kindness and loyalty, Ravenclaw, which is associated with knowledge and intelligence, Gryffindor which is associated with bravery and courage, and Slytherin, which is associated with determination and cunningness." (y/n) explained.
"Well that sounds exciting! Which one did you get into?" her mother asked.
"I'm in Gryffindor." (y/n) answered proudly. "And so are all of my friends! Except for one girl I met on the train, she's in Hufflepuff."
"So then tell us about your friends." her mother said.
"Well first there's Hermione Granger. She's really smart, probably the best of our year and she's helped me out a lot with spells and such. She's just like me too, her parents aren't wizards either." (y/n) stated.
"How lovely." her mother replied.
"Then there's Ron Weasley. He's got about 6 siblings and he's the second youngest. His two older twin brothers are in Gryffindor too as well as his other older brother...he's our prefect." (y/n) went on.
Her mother nodded along, seeming to be invested in what the girl had to say while her father ate his dinner and read the newspaper.
"Then there's Neville Longbottom. I wouldn't say he's the best at all of the spells and potions. But he's really kind and he has a toad named Trevor." (y/n) continued.
"Wow. It sounds like you've made some great friends." her mother remarked.
"Well there's also Harry Potter. He's supposed to be like a celebrity or something in the wizarding world for defeating some evil wizard named Voldemort when he was a baby. He's a very curious boy. He thinks one of our professors is trying to steal something top secret from the school. He's also really good at this wizard sport called Quidditch. He got on the team as a first year, which hasn't happened in like a century." (y/n) rambled with excitement.
"Wow." her mother said. "Y-you said one of your professors is trying to steal something?"
"Yeah. We don't really know what it is, Hermione told Harry and Ron to look for the answer over the holiday since they're staying at Hogwarts. There was also a troll in the bathrooms at one point, but I'll spare you all of those details." (y/n) stated, picking her fork back up and taking a bite of her dinner. She didn't want to scare her mother about her almost near death experience. She would probably lock (y/n) up in her room and never let her return if she knew.
"Well that all sounds very exciting dear." her mother replied with a smile. "Is there anything that you didn't like?"
(y/n) nodded vigorously, her eyes widening.
"There's this one boy, Draco Malfoy, in my year and he's a Slytherin. He's really mean to everyone at school and no one really likes him, especially Harry." she remarked.
"Draco Malfoy? What an interesting name." her mother stated, glancing over at her father and giving him a small nudge. He looked up at the two.
"Oh yeah, that's great." he mumbled before looking back at the newspaper.
(y/n) frowned a little, staring down at her food before taking another bite.
"We're glad you've been having a good time." Mrs. Adler said.
