(y/n) made her way down the corridor with a large stack of books in her hands. Hermione had requested that they bring some books from the library when they came to visit her in the hospital wing. She couldn't start attending classes again yet and was scared about falling behind. Malfoy and his two goons turned the corner, prompting the three Gryffindors to sigh.

"Adler, could I speak with you for a moment?" he asked.

She glanced at Ron and Harry, who seemed worried that the lid on their recent plan had just been opened. Malfoy walked away from the group and after handing Ron the books, (y/n) followed him.

"What do you want, Malfoy?" she asked as she crossed her arms.

"I'll have to decline your request as I would never be caught dead with someone of your bloodline." he said.

   "Come again?" she asked.

"I heard about your dispute with Parkinson last week." he clarified.

   "What about it?" (y/n) questioned.

"I don't need your little crush on me to tarnish my reputation." he stated.

"Oh don't worry, you do that all on your own." she replied. Malfoy shot her an annoyed look.

"Well whatever feelings you have for me, know they aren't reciprocated and never will be." he remarked.

"I don't know what Parkinson's told you, Malfoy, but I definitely do not have a crush on you. I'd rather snog the giant squid than ever have any type of romantic feelings towards you." (y/n) clarified.

Malfoy smirked.

"Glad we're on the same page then." he said.

(y/n) gave him a quick fake smile and he walked past her. His two goons gave her a dirty look before following him. She rolled her eyes and walked back over to Ron and Harry, giving them a nod of assurance. They both sighed in relief.

"What was that all about?" Harry asked.

"Nothing of substance, per usual." she replied.

The three walked into the hospital wing, seeing Hermione's bed and the surrounding area covered in opened books. She looked up at them and smiled.

"Oh good. Put those anywhere." she stated.

Ron took a quick glance around her bed before dropping the stack of books onto the floor. They made a loud thud, causing Madam Pomfrey to give them a disapproving look.

"Madam Pince asked that we relay a message to you, Hermione. She'd appreciate it if you'd leave a few books for the rest of the school." Ron remarked.

"I've got to keep up, haven't I?" Hermione asked.

Her cat tail started swinging from side to side, drawing the children's attention.

"Is that thing ever going to go away?" Ron asked.

"Any day now. I'm just thankful I've stopped coughing up furballs." Hermione explained.

"Well if you were ever an Animingus you know what you don't want to be." (y/n) pointed out.

Hermione closed her book and set it down in her lap, giving the three her full attention.

"Now what about the Chamber of Secrets? Any new leads?" Hermione asked.

   "Nothing." Harry stated.

"Well is anyone speaking to you now?" Hermione asked.

"Neville asked to borrow a tubeworm in Potions yesterday. I suppose that's something." Harry suggested.
