Neville walked into the Great Hall as everyone ate dinner, looking perfectly fine. (y/n) noticed there was no cast on his wrist which she found to be curious since Madam Hooch said he had broken it. As he neared her seat, she stood up to greet him.

"Are you alright? Your wrist looks fine." she remarked.

"Yeah, Madam Pomfrey fixed it all up. I heard that Draco tried to steal my rememberall and put it on top of the roof, but you tried to stop him, so thanks." Neville replied.

"Well Harry was the one who really saved it." (y/n) mentioned, turning and pointing to Harry.

"Yeah...thanks Harry." Neville said over (y/n)'s shoulder.

   "No problem Neville." Harry waved.

(y/n) gave Neville a smile before sitting back in her seat.

"I can't believe how much homework Snape assigned us on the first day." Seamus complained as he took another bite of food.

"Oh come on. It isn't that bad, theres plenty of books about the Cure for Boils." Hermione remarked.

"Well I'm fully expecting to be in the library until our first class tomorrow." (y/n) stated. She took one more bite from her food and slung her bag over her shoulder. "If you need me, you know where to find me."

She walked out of the Great Hall and headed to the library. She found a small table near the window and decided to sit there. She took our her potions book and grabbed a few off of the shelves that mentioned Cure for Boils. Once she started reading, she quickly became bored with the subject matter. Why did she have to know how to brew things? Isn't there a professional that does that and then sells them in a store? She put her head in her hand as she tried to focus on what she was reading, though she seemed to be reading the same paragraph over and over.

She saw someone sit across from her and put their feet up on the table. It was Malfoy.

"So, I assume Potter is on the next train home." he stated.

She looked over at him and smirked, excited to put him in his place.

"Not quite." she crossed her arms and sat back in her seat. "He's the new Seeker for Gryffindor."

Malfoy's eyes widened in disbelief as he took his feet off the table.

"You're lying." he shrugged her off.

"Am I? I'm sure that'd make you feel better. But go ask anyone around the school if you don't believe me." she stated. He looked unamused. "Awe are you upset because you haven't gotten your call up yet? Don't worry, maybe if you work on your skills you'll be able to make your house team by seventh year."

Malfoy glared at her. She could tell how much she had gotten under his skin and couldn't hold in her laugh. He deserved it though, he was a prat.

"Mudblood." he muttered under his breath.

He quickly got up and sat at a different table. (y/n) stared at him curiously, wondering what mudblood even meant. She didn't give it too much thought though, diverting her attention back to her homework. After hours of reading through pages and scribbling on parchment, she had finally finished her first assignment. She looked upon it proudly and smiled to herself. She placed it carefully in her bag and packed away all of her things.

She made her way back to the Gryffindor common room, giving the portrait the password and walking inside. She was met with Ron, Hermione, and Harry all hunched over, trying to catch their breath.

"What happened to you?" (y/n) asked.

   "Long story." Hermione panted.

"What do they think they're doing? Keeping a thing like that locked up in a school?" Ron asked.
