"Can you believe Gilderoy Lockhart is going to be our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year?" Hermione gushed as the two walked out of Gringotts.

"Yeah, I saw his long list of books we needed to get. They're all about him. I mean, how self-absorbed do you have to be?" (y/n) remarked. She stopped on the steps, prompting Hermione to do the same.

"I heard he's going to be at Flourish and Blotts today to sign his books!" Hermione said dreamily.

(y/n) just laughed at her friend and shook her head. The two began walking down the steps again when they saw Harry and Hagrid walking down the alley together.

   "Harry!" (y/n) yelled.

Harry looked in their direction and smiled. The two girls ran down the steps to meet them. (y/n) almost tackled Harry in a hug.

"Hello, Hagrid. It's wonderful to see you two again." Hermione greeted. She looked curiously at Harry before taking out her wand and pointing it at his face. "Oculus Repairo."

Harry's glasses fixed themselves back to their intended state.

"I need to remember that one." he remarked.

"Come on. Everyone's been so worried." Hermione stated.

She pulled Harry's arm and led them into Gringotts. Hagrid and (y/n) followed the two up the steps and into the doors.

"Oh Harry. Thank goodness. We hoped you'd only gone one grate too far. Come now. We're off to Flourish and Blotts." Mr. Weasley instructed.

"Isn't it thrilling! Gilderoy Lockhart's going to be there! We can actually meet him! I mean he's written almost the whole booklist!" Hermione gushed once more, this time to Harry. She ran out of the building excitedly.

"Who?" Harry asked, turning to (y/n).

"She's been going off about this since I saw her. This is about the fifth time I've heard it." she replied.

Harry laughed as they made their way over to Flourish and Blotts. They walked in to see a hoard of middle aged women, gawking over Lockhart, who was signing books at the back of the store.

"There he is!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed, fixing up her appearance.

"Mum fancies him." Ron stated, earning a jab in the shoulder from Mrs. Weasley.

"Out of the way! This is for the Daily Prophet!" a man with a camera yelled as he shoved his way up to Lockhart.

Lockhart looked up excitedly and smiled as he glanced over at Harry.

"It can't be...Harry Potter?" he asked in disbelief.

The crowd fell silent and started whispering amongst themselves. Lockhart grabbed Harry from the crowd and posed with him for a picture. Harry looked quite uncomfortable as Lockhart whispered something in his ear. Once a few pictures had been taken, Lockhart grabbed a stack of books and shoved them into Harry's hands.

   "Thank you?" Harry said.

He looked over at (y/n) who signaled for him to come back. The boy slipped out of Lockhart's reach and made his way back to his friends.

"Looks like you're set for the year then." (y/n) remarked.

Harry looked at Ginny and handed her the books.

"You have these. I'll buy my own." he stated.

Ginny smiled widely at Harry as Mrs. Weasley took the books out of her hands to go get them signed. (y/n) glanced over at the stairs, seeing Malfoy ripping a page out of a book. He met her gaze, closing the book and walking down the stairs. He had seemed to grow a lot over the summer, his hair still slicked back in the same style. He glared dangerously at Harry.
