"Is Hermione coming?" Ron asked as (y/n) walked into the common room.

"I don't know. She went to the library last night and I didn't see her before I went to bed...didn't see her this morning either." she explained.

"She must have fallen asleep in the library then." Ron deduced.

(y/n) shrugged.

"Maybe. Should we go check on her?" she suggested.

"No, the game is going to start soon. She can just meet us there." he replied.

(y/n) followed Ron towards the Quidditch Stadium, glancing around for any sign on Hermione. Just as the two were about to climb the stairs to the stands, Hagrid called out to them.

   "Ron! (y/n)!" he yelled.

The two turned around as he waved them down. They glanced at each other before walking over to the giant.

   "What's up Hagrid?" Ron asked.

"Professor McGonagall would like ter see you both. It's pretty important so I wouldn' keep 'er waitin'." he stated.

He gestured for them to follow him.

"Do you think we're in trouble?" Ron whispered.

"What would we be in trouble for?" (y/n) asked.

"Maybe Malfoy found out about the Polyjuice Potion and told McGonagall." he suggested.

"Malfoy didn't find out anything, he's too dim." she argued.

The two remained silent until they met up with Professor McGonagall and Harry in the entrance hall. Both Ron and (y/n) gave Harry a confused look.

"You will all need to come with me." McGonagall instructed, her face solemn and straight.

She began walking down the corridor and the others followed.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be playing?" Ron whispered.

"McGonagall told me the game was cancelled." Harry explained.

"I'm telling you, she knows about Malfoy...about the Polyjuice Potion." Ron said.

   "You think?" Harry asked.

"It's has to, I mean, what else could it be?" he asked.

Professor McGonagall stopped walking and turned to the students. They hadn't realized where they were walking until they saw the entrance to the hospital wing.

"I warn you. This will be a bit of a shock." she said, opening the door. They peeked inside, seeing Madam Pomfrey attending to one of the beds. (y/n) suddenly gasped, realizing it was Hermione. She rushed to the bedside, noticing she had been petrified. "She was found near the library. Along with this. Does it mean anything to any of you?"

McGonagall held up a small mirror for them to examine. They all shook their heads.

"Well then, I think it'd be best to get back to your common room. I'll escort you." she stated.

The three were hesitant to leave, not wanting to abandon their friend. Ron pulled them away to follow McGonagall.

"Will she be okay Professor?" Harry asked.

"Once Professor Sprout finishes growing the Mandrakes, we will be able to heal her. Until then, there is nothing else we can do." she replied.

It was silent the rest of the walk to Gryffindor Tower. (y/n) stated at her shoes, trying to keep it together. Her best friend was petrified...what if she was next? Once they reached the common room, McGonagall summoned the rest of the Gryffindors. (y/n) sat on the arm of the couch as everyone piled in. McGonagall began reading off of a parchment. (y/n) didn't pay much attention, too worried about the monster coming to get her.
