The Day of the Fall Festival
(Y/n) POVI took a final glance in the mirror of my bathroom and straightened out my yukata. Soon after, I made my way downstairs. I walked by the kitchen, and as I passed my parents, I reiterated my plans for the night.
The actual festival wasn't too far from my house, so I could just walk there. I made my way through down the street before turning into a side trail which leads right to the park of the festival. I quietly hummed to myself, enjoying the brief moment of solitude. Soon enough, I saw a ton of lights and pop-up tents come into view. It was stunning. The festival was huge. Tons of people and tons of great smells!
The previous day, Oikawa and I sat in his car after school to simply chat before his practice started. He told me stories of his old memories at this annual festival, and he told me the food here was undeniably amazing.
I smiled at the fresh fond memory and continued forward. I wandered around a bit, looking for everyone amongst the large number of people already here. For coming here with such a large group, you'd think it would be easy to find them. There were kids from other nearby schools too.
"Daichi, what the heck?! Go away."
My ears perked up at the name being called from around the corner. Kurasuno kids here too? I went over to the edge of the corner and peaked over with a big grin across my face, "Hi, Daichi!" Uh oh. Wrong Daichi. Red Alert. This ain't our cousin. Frick. I could feel my face pale as I faced none other than Seijoh's basketball captain.
"Hey there, (F/n)~ What's got you so happy- oh, me?" He said smugly. Suddenly, I also noticed he had stalked up close to me within those few seconds of our greeting. He started leaning down to place a kiss on my head. I internally gagged at his attempted to swoon me.
I pushed up his chin away from me. "Haha. Whoa there. No need to skip over first base. You're still in the dugout, my guy. Which means it's also still (L/n) for you."
He pouted, and I got my first good look at him. He had dirty blond hair with ice blue eyes and a white yukata. Yup. The exact opposite of my Daichi Sawamura. "Come on, babe. I know you gave me a prank number last time, but that doesn't hide how you obviously want me~"
"Huh. You're right. I do indeed obviously want you... to back the fuck up." I looked around to see if there was anyone I recognized amongst the large group of surrounding people. Unfortunately, it was just us.
"Come on, I'm real with you," Daichi chimed. Damn, I hate how they have the same name. I'll never see my cousin the same way again.
"Yeah, a real pain in the ass." I scoffed. I turned around and walked down an aisle of food stands. Finally, I caught the sight of some familiar tufts of hair in the distance. I quickened my pace and soon reached my group of friends.
"Hi, guys!" I chirped and the many heads turned to look at me. There were about 20 of us and I only really knew about 7... Luckily, after I greeted Oikawa, Iwa, Makki, Matsun, and some other girls, Kokoro took me around to meet the other people with us. Kokoro's yukata was light grey, Oikawa's blue, Iwa's black, Hanamaki's orange, and Matsun's brown.
When Daichi finally caught up with us, I couldn't help but smile at the collective groan going off the second his cocky ass came around.
It was still pretty early, and some stands were still getting set up, so we all sat together in a grassy field area just catching up. Currently, I was talking in a circle with Matsun and a few others. After a while of chatting, Kokoro walked next to me and whispered into my ear, "I think I'm going to talk with them now." I looked at her and gave her an assuring thumbs up.
