Well, it turned out that I didn't get to figure out how to handle it the next day. With the dementor attack and Harry's expulsion, people were coming in and out of the house on an hourly basis: Discussing the situation and how to handle it and figuring out if someone was behind it. I could have easily pointed them in the direction, but Mom grabbed me before I could step one foot out of the bedroom and made me promise not to say anything on what I know about this world.
Besides that interaction, Mom kept a respectful distance after that, only giving me hesitant smiles here and there. She kept herself busy by going down to meet or reunite with some of the Order of the Phoenix members and checking in on Hank who has essentially locked himself in the spare bedroom. I tried to check on him myself, mostly out of boredom, but ended up leaving to prevent myself from punching him.
This whole situation has him freaking out more than I thought it would, and I partially felt bad for him. Mom had reunited with Sirius and I was getting along swimmingly with everyone while he still had his tail in between his legs and snapped at anything that moved. At one point I grabbed Mom when she came up to check on him and asked what we were going to do about him. She only answered with an 'I don't know' paired with a troubled expression.
While my list of questions have built up since the Death Eater attack, I wasn't ready for more life-altering revelations just yet. There was still the biggest question on how we transported from one world to this world. Mom congratulated me for getting us here, but I still had no idea how I did it. Johnna claimed that I was a Seer, yet, I had no idea what that was supposed to mean? Yeah, I have those precognitions, but I wasn't sure if that's what she meant by Seer.
As I said, I wasn't ready for the answer just yet, so I settled for engrossing myself into one of Hermione's books as she and Ginny played a round of chess in their bedroom while Ron joined Fred and George on trying to eavesdrop on Order meetings. Since Order members were coming in and out and holding small discussions, all underage kids had to stay upstairs by the order of Mrs. Weasley unless told otherwise.
Word of Sirius being my father has yet spread, so I took great comfort in the peace until the questions start coming. After all, I myself am still coming to terms about it.
"Hey Amelia, wanna to play a round?" Ginny called from her bed where the two Gryffindor girls sat. Ginny's chess pieces were jumping in victory while Hermione's were scowling at her.
"Uh, sure." I placed Hogwarts, a History down on the nightstand and took Hermione's seat.
"Everything going okay?" Ginny asked.
I shrugged. "For the moment, yeah."
"I was wondering, since you just found out that you're a witch, will you be going to Hogwarts now?"
I shrugged. "I honestly don't know. I don't even have a wand or even know if I am an actual witch. I haven't seen anything that has shown otherwise."
"I have a feeling that you are a witch," Ginny assured me. "I overheard your Mom's maiden name was Selwyn? That's one of the greater, pure-blood families, but they've started getting shamed on because a lot of them started marrying muggle-borns and started supporting muggle-borns these last few generations. Dad went to school with quite a few of them and said they're a really nice family."
"I didn't know," I smiled. "There's a lot for me to learn."
"Well, if you need anything, we're right here," Hermione smiled. "I know we just met, but I just want you to know that Ginny and I are here for you if you need anything."
My chest swelled. I've never had someone, who wasn't family at least, be this kind to me and offer to be there for me. Was this a taste of what true friendship is supposed to be like?
