The morning of the Hogsmeade trip, I happily handed over my permission slip to a suspicious Filch. He was giving narrowed looks at some of the students, particularly Fred and George. I even caught him smelling Harry as if trying to smell the mischievous he was planning.
I wrapped myself up in a long coat to help me brace the chilly October wind. Beside me, Zendaya had her hair in a fishtail braid over her shoulder and was wrapping a scarf neatly around her neck.
Nearby, Pansy was with her little gang, checking over herself diligently. I've been leaving little sprinkles of glitter around her bed and in her trunk. She's been slowly going crazy and shrieks at the sight of it. She still has no idea that I'm behind it, much to my delight.
"Remember, you're more than welcome to join me and Arthur at the Three Broomsticks later," she said with a hum. "He's been having trouble with that Potions essay and I told him I would help."
I had already told Zendaya that I was going to hang out with Harry, Ron, and Hermione for most of the Hogsmeade visit since we haven't had a chance to hang out since school started. Which wasn't technically a lie, but I refrained from telling her the real reason why we were meeting up. I don't think Harry and the others would approve of me bringing a Slytherin they didn't fully know or even partly trust, not when I know I'm already going to be a handful. However, I had some time to kill before meeting with Harry, so Zendaya was going to show me around the wizarding village.
"There's Zonko's Joke Shop." She pointed to the colorful shop as we made our way down the street. I spotted a couple tall redheads through the windows and knew the twins were stocking up. "I'm sure you could find something in there to help with whatever diabolical plans you're thinking."
"They're not entirely diabolical," I rolled my eyes. "But I will definitely check it out."
She showed me a few other shops, and I was very interested in the Dominic Maestro's Music Shop. Maybe I can pick out a new guitar since I've been finding myself itching to play recently. I also made a mental note to stop by Honeydukes and pick up some sweets. We soon found ourselves in front of the Three Broomsticks as I was ready to go meet up with Harry and she to meet up with Arthur.
"I'll catch up with you later," I waved as I made my back down the street towards Honeydukes as Harry told me earlier to meet him there. Sure enough, Harry was standing outside of the store waiting for me. "Ready to cause a mess?" I asked with a smirk.
He shook his head. "Come on. Ron and Hermione are waiting at the Hog's Head."
I stuffed my hands into my pockets as we walked, enjoying the fresh, open air. I wouldn't be surprised if it started snowing soon since the temperature continued to drop each day and I couldn't wait. I grew up in the southern parts of Virginia where snow was sometimes a rare occurrence. Once every few years, we would get a decent snow storm that would give us a couple inches, but it would melt a couple days later. Downside of the snowfall here is that classes wouldn't cancel if a snowstorm hit. But I didn't mind.
"Classes going okay?" Harry asked.
"Yeah. For the most part. Potions could be better, but what can you do?"
"I don't know how you do it," he scoffed. "I've been doing magic for almost five years now, and there are a lot of things I struggle with. But you just found out that you're a witch and already you're doing great."
"Well Padfoot, Mom, and Remus helped a lot. Speaking of, did Padfoot visit you?" I told him about Sirius's visit the other night which made Harry frown.
"He did visit. You don't think he'll come, do you?" He asked.
I shook my head. "He won't since we both said 'no'. Besides, my mom is there to make sure he won't leave."
