After many minutes we found the strength to get back on to our feet. Remus waited by the doorway and was relieved as we walked over to him. I couldn't tell who was supporting who by how we were leaning on each other as we made our way our of the room and down to the kitchen.
"I've spoken to Molly," Remus said quietly to me as I sat Sirius down. "When term ends, you can return to her home while-"
"No," I interjected. "I want to come back here."
"You should go with Molly and Arthur," Sirius said in a hallow tone. "I'm not fit to be a parent. Besides, I'm still wanted by the Ministry."
"Then we'll have to fix that. I'm not leaving you. Not unless you're coming to the Burrow with me."
He only stared at the table.
I glanced at the clock. It was almost eight o'clock. As much as I would prefer to stay the night at Grimmauld with Sirius and Remus, the stinging from the spell-bound cut protested otherwise.
I slid into the seat across from Sirius and took his hands. "I'm not losing another parent, you hear? We'll talk to Dumbledore and get you sorted out. Please don't do anything reckless, at least until term is over."
He nodded. I looked up at Remus. "How's Tonks? I heard Bellatrix did a number on her."
He shifted his feet. "She's going to be fine. She's a stubborn one, I'll giver her that."
I smiled. "Yes, she is."
"What about you?" Sirius jerked. "Before Kingsley took you back to school, I saw you were covered in blood and scratches."
"I'm fine. Johnna Nott got me good, though. Madam Pomfrey gave me some potions to help, but we think it's going to leave a scar. No more bikinis for me. Although, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have nightmares from what I saw down there." The empty look of the Death Eater after the Book of Knowledge got him sent a shiver up my spine. And let's not talk about the tank full of brains.
"And Harry?"
"He's fine. I'm pretty sure he's the only one that came out almost completely unscathed."
He sighed in relief.
"Speaking of, I really should get back to Hogwarts. Dumbledore did allow me come, but he would like me back at a reasonable time."
"Of course." He stood when I stood and pulled me into a big hug. "I love you, Amelia."
"Love you too, Dad."
He kissed the top of my head and released me so I could hug Remus. "Take care of him, will you?"
"Always." He kissed my forehead and walked me back to the living room while Sirius sulked back upstairs to his room. Before I got the Floo Powder, I turned to Remus.
"Can you look into a few things for me?"
"Of course."I told him about the Book of Knowledge and asking it about Hank. I told him what the book listed as possible solutions that could save Hank.
Remus's brow furrowed with each passing minute.
"And what is he suffering from, again?"
"Insanity, but I'll explain more once I'm back for summer. Considering that you're my godfather now, I think you should know about the Selwyn family secret."
"Family secret?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Emphasis on the secret part. can you look into those curses and other things?"
