"Do you think everything is going to be alright?" Hermione frowned as she stared up at the Hogwarts Express.

"Yeah, I mean we would have been told if Mr. Weasley didn't make it or something." I patted her on the shoulder. "I just know he'll make a full recovery."

The night before, after the D.A. meeting, Harry and the Weasley children left school early for break after finding out that Mr. Weasley had been attacked and was sent to St. Mungo's for treatment. When Hermione caught me the next morning and told me what happened, I couldn't help the guilt that crawled through me. I knew it was going to happen, yet I did nothing to prevent it. I didn't even warn anyone about it.

Now, with term officially done, all the students who were returning home for the holidays packed their bags and made their way to the carriages that will take them to the Hogwarts Express in Hogsmeade. I ditched Zendaya and Arthur, after catching sight of Hermione all alone, with a promise to meet back up with them shortly. On the carriage ride down to the train, Hermione told me what she was told by Dumbledore, which was simply Mr. Weasley being attacked and that Harry and the Weasley kids returned to Grimmauld, but everything was okay.

"I worry about Harry too," Hermione added. "He's not like himself anymore."

"He barely made it out alive last summer," I pointed out. "He faced Voldemort and saw someone he liked and respected die right in front of him. Just seeing death happen can change anyone."

"How did it change you?"

"Well, for starters, I became more of a selfless idiot." I forced a smirk at her, earning a shaking head.

"You're not an idiot."

"You haven't been around me enough," I winked.

"Which is a blessing, Granger, believe me." Zendaya and Arthur walked over. The Zendaya greeted Hermione with a hesitant smile and who returned it with a wary smile.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I crossed my arms and shot my friend a look.

"Have you ever met you?" Zendaya pointed out.

"I have, and I find her rather charming, thank you very much."

She rolled her eyes at me before turning to Hermione who was shifting on her feet and fiddling with her bag's strap. "Granger," she greeted.

"Clark," Hermione greeted.

The space turned awkward as we stood there in silence. Well, that just won't do in my book.

"Hey, Hermione, if you don't have anyone to sit with, you're more than welcome to sit with us."

Out of the corner of my eye, Zendaya and Arthur glanced uneasily at each other.

"I wouldn't want to impose," Hermione said rather quickly. "Besides, I said I would sit with a couple others and I do have prefect duties to attend to during the ride. Thank you for the offer."

"Alright. Well, then I'll catch you later." I smiled, hoping my disappointment didn't show.

We split after that, with her going towards one end of the train and Zendaya, Arthur, and I to the other. We found a compartment and settled down and I immediately got out my guitar.

"Hope you guys don't mind if I practice," I said with an apologetic smile.

Zendaya perked up at the sight of the instrument while Arthur shook his head. "Not at all."

We kept to our own personal space on the train ride back to London. Arthur was reading some book on magical creatures while Zendaya was organizing her notes from the term. We interacted here and there, but mainly kept to ourselves. After a few hours, the compartment door opened and Pansy stood in the doorway with a smug smile. behind her, I spotted Millicent, Camila, and a couple other girls from her little clique.
