Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna should be in Umbridge's office right about now, probably being interrogated by Umbridge with her Inquisitorial Squad.
Did I feel guilty for tricking Theodore? Not entirely. I did think he was genuine and that's what really hit that guilt nail. I meant what I said when telling him that he's really is a nice person. But I had a feeling that rare display of kindness will surely be the last of it once he finds out I tricked and lied to him.
As I was about to turn down the last corridor, the hairs on the back of my neck rose and I jumped to the side into a crevice in the wall. I held my breath as footsteps drew nearer and nearer. Then, a determined Hermione and a slightly confused Harry followed closely by a seething Umbridge exited the corridor and made their way down towards the Entrance Hall.
I sneered at Umbridge's back. Have fun with the centaurs, toad.
Once they were gone, I ventured down the corridor, my hand reaching for the glitter pouch and pulling out a green marble.
I knew Ron, Neville, Ginny, and Luna can manage themselves, but I had to find a way to intervene so no one would question my presence. I need to make sure I slide into this escapade smoothly as if I was always meant to come along.
I reached the office door. I pressed my ear against it and can hear movement from inside and Malfoy's voice. I took a deep breath and gripped the marble. Here goes.
I threw open the door and before the Inquisitorial Squad members or Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna could react I smashed the green marble at the floor right next to Malfoy. Glittering green smoke billowed from it and within seconds filled the room. Everyone shouted in surprise, and I took the opening and jumped into the thick smoke. Using my precognition to distinguish Inquisitorial Squad from the others, I found Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna and pushed them towards the door. If I reached for a Slytherin, the hairs on the back of my neck rose and was followed by a vision. If I reached someone and got no flash of a vision, I grabbed them from their captors and pushed them towards the entrance.
A few minutes later, I stepped out of the room. Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna were removing their gags and massaging their arms from where the Inquisitorial Squad was holding them. All of them, including me, were covered in green glitter. I pulled out a yellow marble and turned to the office.
"You shouldn't make enemies within your house, Malfoy," I yelled throwing the yellow marble into the smoke. Bright light pierced through the smoke followed by additional shouts. I shut the door and released a long exhale.
"That was brilliant!" Ginny grinned brushing off some of the glitter.
"How did you know we were there?" Ron asked.
"Overheard Pansy telling a friend," I lied. "What's going on?"
Ron and Ginny hesitated and met each other's eyes.
"What?"
"It's Sirius," Ron admitted reluctantly. "Harry saw You-Know-Who torturing him at the Ministry."
I feigned surprise. "What? Are you sure?"
"He believes it," Ginny said. "He's so certain that it's true."
"And do you believe him?"
"Yeah. I kind of do. I mean, he's the reason we knew Dad was in trouble and needed help. I'm sorry, Aims."
"Where's Harry?"
"Dunno," Ron shrugged. "Hermione was taking Umbridge to go see this 'weapon'. I don't know what she was on about."
"I saw them heading towards the Forbidden Forest on my way here. We should follow. I need to know about Sirius."
They nodded and we all took off through the corridors, through the entrance hall, and across the grounds towards the Forbidden Forest. We didn't have to look to far for Harry and Hermione who appeared to be a bit shaken, but otherwise, okay.
