I dodged to the side as Johnna sent a spell at me.
"Show me what you can do," she sneered. "You've been at Hogwarts for one full year now? You should at least know a spell or two you can send at me." She shot another spell at me and I narrowly dodged it. Where's my wand?
There! It was off to the side of the room, just a few feet away, but there's no way I can make a run for it and not get attacked.
The only thing between me and the Death Eaters was the book that was still lashing about, but at least it got a few hits on them. One of them even slashed Johnna's jaw which was now bleeding.
An idea popped into my head and I reached for my pouch. A green marble would be to dangerous since it would be obscuring my sight too. I could use a yellow, but what if I also get blinded? Can't let that happen and won't even risk it until I at least had my wand back. Blue is useless for this. So that means...
I pulled out a red marble and smashed it right at the Death Eaters' feet. Red, glittery fireworks burst from it and right into the Death Eaters' faces. I used that moment and dived for my wand. I grabbed it and pointed it at the book.
"Depulso!" I yelled.
The book jerked forward and right at the Death Eater's feet. He had just gotten the glitter out of his eyes when the vines latched onto him and pulled him towards the book. The vines reached for his head and gave the necessary pull so that his face was in the crevice of the book. More vines emerged from the book and wrapped around his head, locking it into place.
Not even Johnna couldn't turn away from her comrade's flailing body as he tried to escape. Muffled screams came from underneath the vines until slowly, he screams turned silent and his body stopped thrashing. The vines released him and he rolled aside, his eyes were wide open. He looked to be breathing, but there was something off about him. His eyes only stared upward unblinkingly and there was something empty about them.
That's a nope for the book for me, thank you.
I was the first to move and scrambled towards the door.
"I don't think so!"
I dodged another spell and lunged at the door.
There was a shriek and I glanced over to see that the book was now lashing at Johnna. She thrusted and slashed her wand at the vines and they fell apart with each swing. I really hope the book will finish her off.
I threw open in the door and threw myself through it. The door closed behind me and the room spun. Stupid Department of Mysteries trick. I got back to my feet and took a deep breath. I need to find the others. I pocketed the knife and kept my wand up as I walked over to a door. I pushed it open to find the Time Room in disarray and immediately closed it when I thought I saw a grown man with a baby's head.
Nope. I ain't touching that.
I opened another door and the room was in chaos.
Five Death Eaters surrounded the group. Hermione and Luna were laying unconscious to the side of the room. Neville had a busted lip and was gripping Hermione's wand. Ron was laughing uncontrollably. Harry faced down a Death Eater, the only one not too injured.
"Harry, look!" Ron laughed as a brain floated over to his hand. The tentacles of the brain started wrapping around his arms. "Look what's happening! Haha... No... I don't like thins... Stop... Stop!" The tentacles then wrapped around his chest.
Harry shot a spell at the tentacles, but it was no use.
Ginny cried out in worry for her brother and one of the Death Eaters turned to her.
