Naruto sat on the swing that sat out side of the academy. It was under a large tree in front of the academy. The leaves shielded her from the harsh rays from the sun, said rays could be seen peaking through the leaves, showing spots of sun light in the dirt below its trunk.

Naruto sighed as she looked down at her lap, observing her bento box and Chopstick case. They sat in her lap as she gently swing, back and forth with her toes upon the ground.

Next to her sat Choji, he sat on the ground leaning against the tree, he was munching on a bag of chips quietly.

They sat there in silence, watching as all the other students got picked up by their parents.

In the distance Naruto watched as Shikamaru talked to Ino's father. He didn't look to pleased from what Shikamaru was telling him. He was a tall and well built man, his hair wasn't as light as Ino's but it was a blonde. His eyes were like Ino's just not so noticable. His hair was long and tied back into a high pony tail. His forehead protector sat proudly upon his forhead, showing all what Village he was from.

Inochi Yamanaka was his name. He was the head of the Yamanaka Clan, his only daughter and child, Ino. Stood next to him pouting.

Naruto kept her eyes on Shikamaru's back, just observing him ,when she suddenly asked "Why?" She asked aloud. Her tone was emotionless as she questioned herself aloud. Choji looked up at her, and stopped his chewing for a moment. "Huh? Did you say something Naruto?" He gently asked her. She didn't look down at him, she just kept her eyes trained on Shikamaru.

When she didn't continue, Choji shrugged his shoulders and continued eating his chips. "Why are you both my friends? I'm not that special. I'm not as pretty as Ino, or as famous as Sasuke. I don't have a clan, and I'm hated by everyone. So why? Why bother trying?" She questioned, her eyes moved from Shikamaru and onto the other children running to their parents.

'They all look so happy, they look like they have a purpose. A reason for going home, A reason for trying so hard.' She thought to herself. Watching them chat with their family and friends.

Choji sat there, surprised at her question. How? How could he answer that? 'Because your Naruto?' That might hurt. She already doesn't like herself, 'What am I supposed to say?' He was troubled by the thought, as he gazed at his lap. The chip in his hand suddenly didn't look as appetizing as before. 'Oh, I wish Shikamaru was here. He'd know what to say.' Choji thought, hoping that Shikamaru appears.

He took a deep breath, then looked up at Naruto. 'I have to at least try.' He thought. Before he could even open his mouth a voice cut him off. "Feeling sorry for yourself again loser?" It was a brooding voice. It came from behind the tree they were sitting in front of.

Choji jumped, while Naruto snatched her head around. Out from behind the tree came Sasuke. He was glaring at Naruto, completely ignoring Choji. Much to the boy's delight.

Naruto stared at him for a moment, then turned off. He scowled at her actions. 'How dare she. This trash.' He snared in his thoughts. Hatred came across his eyes as he stomped forward.

Choji watched worriedly as Sasuke stomped past him. Sasuke grabbed Naruto on her right shoulder, and pushed his arm down, causing her to fall backwards off the swing. "Oof." She grunted as she hit the ground. "Oh no, Naruto." Choji cried as he looked down at Naruto.

Naruto sat up on her elbows, then glared up at Sasuke. He glared back at her. She was about to say something, but the Hyuga guards flashed through her mind.

"Know your place, low class." One stated at her, his pale, pearl eyes glaring down at her. "Yeah, never speak back to a clan member, your not good enough to even breath the same air as us. Fowl demon." The other growled at her, more hate in his eyes than the other.
