You Matter

"Okay, what happened?" Copper asked as he pulled out a pen to write in his notebook. Booker was sitting beside him with a clipboard in his hand looking at Isabelle waiting for her to speak. Isabelle looked at Shrunk who was sitting beside her. When he found out that K.K. got stabbed he got to the hospital as quickly as he could. 

The four animals were sitting in a private room at the hospital while K.K. was getting examined. Isabelle didn't get any news on his condition or if he was going to be okay since they took him in. She just watched the doctors take his body to the emergency room as they left her in the waiting room with Whitney. Whitney offered to stay with her, but Isabelle told her she could leave after she contacted Shrunk. Eventually, the police arrived, and here she was sitting down in front of them getting questioned.

"Miss Isabelle?" Copper asked, cutting Isabelle out of her thoughts. 

"Uhh yeah, w-we were just walking around Main Street a-and t-they grabbed us. They didn't hurt me but one of them pinned K.K. to a building a stabbed him," Isabelle said her voice quivering. She didn't want to talk to them. She was still trying to process everything that had happened and listening to the officer's question her just made her even more stressed out. Copper nodded and wrote something down before he continued.

"Do you know who it was?" Copper asked. Isabelle nodded.

"Y-yes it was Josh. I don't know his last name but it was the grey wolf that held the party on the night of the f-festival." Shrunk looked over at Isabelle and frowned. He didn't know that K.K. went to a party that night. Then again, he didn't know where K.K. went half of the time. 

"You said 'they grabbed us', was there anyone else?" Booker asked. Isabelle took a deep breath before she spoke.

"Yes, there was a dog, a brown dog I believe. I didn't really get a good look at him but I think Josh said his name was Sean?" Isabelle said unsure of herself. The two officers nodded and jotted something down before they looked back up at Isabelle. Isabelle could feel her stomach turn. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to make sure that Totakeke was alright. She wanted to see him and tell him she was sorry. Isabelle bit her lip as she tried to hold back tears. She wasn't going to cry in front of them.

"Do you know any reason as to why Josh would do this?" Copper asked. Isabelle shook her head.

"I-I'm not really sure. But I do have an idea as to maybe why." Isabelle said. Copper raised an eyebrow and looked at Isabelle.

"Is that so? Well, what is it?" Copper asked. Isabelle sighed.

"My brother Digby told me that things got a little heated with K.K. and Josh at the party. Apparently K.K. was mad at him and I guess just kinda...went off," Isabelle said quietly. Shrunk looked at Isabelle and squinted.

"Wait he got mad at Josh?" Shrunk asked, "That doesn't really sound like him. Do you know why he was so angry?" The officers looked at Shrunk and then at Isabelle. She could feel their eyes on her as her lip began to quiver.

"Josh...kinda did something to me at the party. And I told K.K. about it. He wasn't really happy after I t-told him so I'm a-assuming maybe that's why he was so mad," Isabelle said uncomfortably. Copper looked at Booker and then back at Isabelle. Booker cleared his throat before he spoke.

"What did he do?" Booker asked. Isabelle felt tears biting her eyes as she let out a shuddery breath. 

"H-he j-just touched me, and I didn't want h-him too," Isabelle turned to look at Shrunk and saw his hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her. She smiled at him and took a deep breath trying to get a hold of herself. Copper let out a sigh and got up from his seat.
