K.K. opened his eyes and was surprised to see Isabelle's face in front of his. He sighed, remembering that he decided to sleep with her again. He looked over at the clock and saw that it was almost nine PM. K.K. couldn't believe to see that he had been asleep that long, then again, the past few days had been tiring.
K.K. slowly got up from the bed not wanting to wake up Isabelle and winced in pain from his wound. He lifted his shirt and stared at the bandage on his abdomen. K.K. closed his eyes, thinking about what had happened that night. He couldn't help but wonder what Josh was planning to do with him now. He shook his head, he shouldn't be thinking about that. He trusted Copper. And he believed him when he said that they were going to find them before they could do anything else.
He got up from the bed and went to go grab his jacket from the guest bedroom. Despite that the officers told him to stay inside, K.K. usually went to the Roost at this time when he lived in Animal Village. And since he had nothing else to do, he planned on going there once again. Just as K.K. was about to leave he stopped by the door and turned to look at Isabelle.
Totakeke knew that he should probably leave her a note in case she woke up before he got back so she wouldn't worry. So he grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and wrote something down before setting the letter on her nightstand. He smiled before leaning in to give Isabelle a kiss on her forehead.
"I'll be back," K.K. whispered before he put on his jacket and left the house.

K.K. started making his way towards the Roost as he felt something cold fall on his cheeks. He looked up and was surprised to see that it was snowing. It was still early December but the weather felt as though it was getting colder and colder by the day. K.K. smiled as he watched the snow fall gently around Animal Village. The town felt crisp and K.K. could see his warm breath in the cold air as the frosty winds began to blow. K.K. put on his hoodie and shoved his paws in his pockets to keep them warm.
Totakeke loved winter, it was definitely one of his favorite seasons, unlike Isabelle who preferred the hot summers. And he knew that Digby also preferred the winter as he did. K.K. chuckled, despite them being twins they were very different in many ways.
K.K. let out a sigh of relief as he saw that the lights were on inside the Roost. He was happy to see that Brewster was still opened 24/7 after all these years.
The door chimed as K.K. entered and was happy to see that no one but Brewster was inside the cafe. Brewster looked over at the door and smiled when he saw that it was K.K.
"Hello Totakeke...coo to see you," said Brewster. K.K. smiled at the old pigeon and nodded.
"Heh, coo to see you too my friend," K.K. said as he grabbed a seat across from Brewster.
"The usual?" Brewster asked, grabbing a coffee cup from under the counter. K.K. smiled.
"Yeah, but...maybe with just a little bit of sugar this time," K.K. said. Brewster raised an eyebrow surprised at K.K.'s choice but didn't say anything and went to make his coffee.
"Enjoy..." Brewster said as he slid the coffee cup towards Totakeke.
"Thanks." K.K. blew on his coffee before taking a sip feeling the hot coffee go down his throat. He set his cup down and scrunched up his face from the sudden sweetness. Despite it not being the type of coffee he was used to, it was still pretty good. He could understand why Isabelle took her coffee with so much milk and sugar. With such a sweet personality like hers, it would only make sense for her to love something so sweet. K.K. frowned thinking about her. She had always been so sweet, ever since they were younger.
