-Franks POV-
Today was it, huh? The day had come when I was to move schools again, my track record when it came to other kids wasn't exactly good. This wasn't on me completely, no one understood how to accept someone that was different. Unfortunately for me, I'm very different.
The last box was lifted out of the living room, out the door, and into the moving truck. There was never any sentimental value when I moved houses, it happened to often for that to happen. My eyes wandered one more time around the empty room, my hands sat heavy in my pockets.
A light hand set down on my shoulder, dads hand. "Ready to go, Frankie?" He's the best dad I could have, I'm lucky that he's still with me. My mom died of cancer a few years back, turns out I've got it too. Mines dormant, but there's still a chance it could wake up and plague me again. For this reason, everyday I live as thought it was my last; it might as well could be.
Dad led me from the house, neither of us where happy but we both worse fake smiles anyway. "Dad, how do you always manage to find work when we leave?" It was true, he always landed a well paying job whenever we moved, I've no idea how.
"Your big mans got connections, son." He ruffled my hair and opened the car door for me. A smile crept to my lips before I got in, he joined me a few moments later. My school bag sat in the back of the car. It's Friday and luckily I don't have to attend school for a full week, only one day.
Dad goes into work again Monday, as for me though, the school though it best for me to have a bit of spare time to adjust to it all.
My mind wandered to several topics as the car went down the streets until we arrived at the old school. I looked up in the rear view mirror, fixing any hair that was out of place. It doesn't matter what people think of me, but I don't want to be a target again, that's why I have to move around so much.
"Have a good day, Frank. I love you and I'll see you this afternoon." He gave me an awkward car hug thing, then unlocked the door.
School wasn't in session yet, I had about an hour to get my schedule and map of the school. The lobby is kinda nice, if not small. Fake plants sat in the corners, paintings and signs on the walls as landmarks and directions for new students. I like it.
The secretary smiled at me, a few papers sat by her computer. The name plate on her desk read Ms. Harley, she looked to be nice and had a kind name. "Frank, right? Mr. Tailman told me you where coming in today, a bit strange scheduling but it'll help you get used to the place." She smiled and handed me the papers that sat on her desk.
"That there is your schedule and a map of the school. Remember, if anyone bothers you the doors to the office are always open, come and let me know and I'll let Mr. Tailman know. The councilors office doors are also open at any time, as well as the nurses office if you need a break. Have a good day, honey."
She came off as a mother to me, she's kind and knows what to say and what not to say. I decided I like her, and gave her a genuine smile. "Thank you, I appreciate it. By chance, is there anyone that could show me around the place? The school looks big and confusing from the outside."
She nodded at both my statements. "Yes, there's two students set to come in and give you a tour in a few minutes. Lovely boys they are, I'm sure you'll get along just fine."
I nodded along. "What are their names? I don't want to be awkward when I meet them..." my hand rubbed the back of my neck, I averted my eyes with the weird sentence I just said.
"Oh, yes I understand what you mean, their names are Gerard and Mikey Way, brothers and best friends. When I was your age, I moved schools a bit too so I understand how you feel." I appreciated her sympathy, I smiled at her once again as a pair of boys came in.
"So it doesn't matter if-" the taller one had been saying something, a look from the shorter one shut him up. He chuckled a bit, but didn't finish the sentence. The taller one had brown hair and hazel eyes, he had on a red jacket with a black t-shirt and jeans with converse. The shorter one had black, slightly messy hair, hazel eyes, and worse a black jacket with a misfits t-shirt under it and jeans with converse like his companion.
"Gerard, Mikey, this is Frank. He's the student that your going to be showing around." Mk. Harley introduced me to them, the shorter one stepped forward with a smile on his face offering a hand shake. "I'm Gerard, nice to meet you Frank. You can call me Gee for short though, it's easier." He seems nice, his tone was even and light.
"I'm Mikey, this shorty's brother." He smiled at Gerard when he said that, offering me a hand shake in the meantime. I accepted it, they where both nice and seemed to be close.
Mikey left the office first, I trailed behind him and Gerard kept pace with me. "The schools scheduling is weird, why not let you come in on a Monday instead of a Friday? I mean what sense does that make?" Fee attempted conversation, it was like he read my mind.
"No clue, it's kinda stupid though. I agree, there's no sense behind this at all. I mean, yeah I might know a bit more about the lay out onMonday but it won't really help to much." I shook my head in mock disappointment.
"Hey, can I see your schedule real quick? I want to see it the three of us have any classes together." It turns out I had music, art, lunch, and English with Gerard, math, science, history, lunch and music with Mikey. That turned out great.
"Oh that's cool, I've got all my classes with you two." I smiled at them, already able to tell I could make a friendship out of this.
Math is my first class, so I followed Mikey while Gerard went to science. "So, how many years have you been combing here?" My attempts to make conversation where pathetic, but effective. "Well, I've been here since 9th, so this is my second year here, same for Gerard. Also, don't be fooled. I may be taller but we're the same age somehow." He smiled a guy was lighthearted and funny, I like him.
"So, can I consider you a friend then?" He looked down at me, he's taller than me, much like everyone else. "I mean, if you want to be my friend that would be awesome." I smiled up at him, he returned it.
"Cool, this is the math room, next door is the English room and a bit down the hall is science, history is on the other side." He pointed out the rooms as he spoke, I took mental note of it.
"The bathrooms are a bit down the hall towards the science room, it's pretty clear though, you can see the signs from down here." He led me into the science room, sitting at a table by the back. I sat down with him, waiting for class to start. That was, until I heard a voice comping in out direction.
