-Mikeys POV-
I sat on the couch, my phone in my hand and an Instagram DM open. A few months ago, I met someone through Instagram who was moving to Jersey in a few days. It turns out, we're going to be attending the same school, his first day is Monday. Confident that's the day I'm going back as well, this new information makes me look forward to it that much more.
I've been talking to him for a few hours today, but refrained from explaining my absence from social media over the past few days. It was likely better that he didn't know, I didn't want him to attract trouble, especially if it was because of me. The two of us grew close quickly, we hit I off well and have similar interests.
There was a knock on the door, I was currently at Franks house. The clock on my phone read noon, to early for Frank to be coming home with Gee.
I rolled off the couch, going to the kitchen to where Franks dad was making us lunch. "Are you expecting company today?" He gave me a confused look and shook his head no.
"No, why?"
"I just heard a knock at the door, it's to early for Frank to be getting home with Gee..." he nodded, rolling up his sleeves and going to the door. I followed behind him, a bit curious myself. He looked out through the peep hole, pulling back with a confused expression on his face.
"Mikey, stay here ok?" I nodded, he opened the door and walked outside, looking around. My feet carried me back to the couch where I sat waiting, my phone sitting on the coffee table face down. Franks dad returned inside with a package a few minutes later, a confused expression still sitting heavy on his face.
"I don't remember ordering anything, I'll ask Frank about it when he gets home." He set the package down by the door, then returned to the kitchen to finish up our sandwiches.-Franks POV-
I watched Gerard draw, his hand moving across the paper. The lines he drew turned into a drawing fairly quickly, he looked over at me every now and then but didn't seem to mind my watching to much.
It was clear to what he was doing, he was drawing me. That was today assignment, draw your table partner, but since lunch he's been talking about it. If we had a free period, he probably would have done it anyway.
15 minutes of sitting still passed before he finished his sketch, smiling at me. "You can move now, thanks for being such a perfect model." This is where I would have kissed him, if school rules didn't exists. Scratch that, it's probably better that they do.
"That looks amazing, your talented, but you already know that." He blushed a bit at my compliment, his reaction made me smile. "Thanks. Also, about the whole live thing, when was that again?"
"Saturday, why?"
"Wanted to make sure, I was talking to Mikey VIA text for a bit during history and he's down for it, also got the ok from your dad to have Ray come home with us today." He explained, a smile on his face.
"Oh, that's awesome! I can't wait for this, ahhhhh-" he laughed a bit at my little bit of fan boy-ing, I could help but laugh along with him. We received a few looks from classmates, mostly confused looks. They wouldn't get it like we do, I ignored them.
"I love your passion for this, that will take you somewhere is MCR doesn't make it." Gee ruffled my hair, both of us ignoring that there was graphite all over his hand. I didn't care though, affection is affection.
"Yeah, I guess so. I've always wanted to be in a band and preform and all that, it's kinda surreal now that I actually am, you know?" He nodded, tapping his fingers on the desk. I love how he does that when he's thinking about something. It's subconscious, but makes him look really cute somehow.
"Your really cute when your thinking like that." A blush rose to his cheeks, he covered his face with his hand. This action ended in graphite getting on his cheek, I pointed it out and we both laughed about it. The bell released us soon after, we walked hand in hand to English.
We suffered together through the boring lecture, all we had to do during that class was listen and study for the upcoming test next week, it was actually a pretty productive period.
Finally, the time came where school was out. Gerard came with me to my locker first, it was closer to the English classroom, then we went to his. Ray was waiting for us there, already in the loop for after school plans.
Ray and Mikey are the only ones in the friend group who can drive, he led us to his car. Gee called shotgun, and put on a Misfits CD that we all jammed to on the way back to my house.
My dads car sat parked in the driveway when we got there, Ray parked on the street and got his guitar from his trunk. Gerard waited with me for him, then the three of us went inside. Mikey and my dad where in the middle of an intense game of Mario cart, both of them yelling and being loud. Two plates sat on the floor, likely from their lunch.
Mikey ended up winning the game, my dad didn't actually seem to surprised. I wasn't either, neither where Gerard or Ray. Mikey was strangely good at playing Mario Cart, I swear he had some sort of sorcery or something for the game.
The practice session started not long after that, my dad sat in for a little while before going to his at home office. Since the incident with Mikey, he's been working from home. It was convenient, so I didn't actually mind it much.
We rehearsed and tweaked a few songs in the process, the session was a hug success and it was easy to tell everyone was satisfied by the time we were done.
"Hey Ray? Don't know if you saw the group chat today but Franks been flipping out over an open spot for a band to play on Saturday, all we need is an ok from you. What do you think?" Gee faced his friend, who sat and thought for a moment.
"That would be pretty cool actually, issue is we don't have a drummer yet." Ray gave a half yes, half no answer. Luckily, I knew someone.
"Well, lucky for us I have connections. I know someone who's a drum god, like no joke."
"It's Wednesday, the show would be Saturday. Is that enough time?" Rays concerns where valid, but I could easily contradict them.
"Yeah, the guy is amazing. You'll know when you meet him though." I smiled at Ray, Gerard-who sat next to me- ruffled my already messy hair.
"Yeah ok, think we could all meet up tomorrow and Friday?" Gee jumped into board for my idea, we got oks from the small group.
"I'll send him a text, make sure it's good. Be right back." I got up, making my way to the kitchen with my phone.
This was gonna be great.Song of the chapter: Level of Concern (TØP)
